Located southern Scotland, Dalbeattie is a lovely country town.
An idyllic valley on the River Urr provides a convenient gateway to the Solway Coast, a stretch of pristine beaches and charming fishing communities. In the past, Dalbeattie's granite quarry was used to build landmarks around the world, such as the Eddystone Lighthouse and the Thames Embankment. The 7stanes mountain bike complex is just a short drive away, as well as wooded trails in Glentrool, where Richard Hannay made his way in The Thirty-Nine Steps. The Solway Firth, the Lake District, and the Galloway Hills may be seen from Dalbeattie and the surrounding area. There's a lot to do here, and it's wonderful for families.

Clear parking instructions were left by the owner, who also sent helpful and friendly text messages during our stay. The apartment was quiet, comfortable and very clean. The view from the windows was wonderful. We had a great holiday and really enjoyed staying in the apartment.

!! The owner was a phone call away should she be needed. We have been holidaying in Kippford for 19 years and will definitely be back to Glendower very soon.
