This delightful traditional, detached cottage has a wonderful ambience and offers very stylish and comfortable accommodation throughout. Set back from the road with stunning views of the Tay Estuary from the pretty enclosed rear garden, the living room allows access through patio doors to the garden, where guests can sit and relax while watching the boats sail into the distance or a train going past heading for the iconic Tay Rail Bridge. The ‘Jewel in Dundee’s crown’, Broughty Ferry has a continental atmosphere with its fine seafront, lovely beach, harbour and esplanade. The seafront walks are ideal for a relaxing stroll or you could take the coastal path towards Dundee, 4 miles to the west. There is a good selection of shops and restaurants nearby including individual boutiques and art galleries.
The 15th century Broughty Castle, overlooking the harbour, houses a museum featuring displays on Dundee’s maritime history. Dundee boasts a thriving arts scene and plenty of good shops, bars and restaurants. Dundee is also home to a number of big attractions, including Captain Scott’s ship, The Discovery, on which you can explore and indulge in a little history. Golfers will find this the ideal base to enjoy some of Scotland’s finest golf courses, with St Andrews, Carnoustie and Rosemount all within a half hour’s drive. The neighbouring Kingdom of Fife boasts a number of pretty fishing villages, beautiful sandy beaches and stunning coastal scenery. There are many historic houses all over Fife, Angus and Perthshire, including Falkland Palace, St Andrew’s Cathedral, Glamis Castle, Arbroath Abbey and Scone Palace. For the outdoor enthusiast, there are a number of designated walking and cycling routes in the immediate area and the Angus Glens are only 30 minutes away. Horse riding and fishing are also available locally. Bridge Cottage is centrally located and provides the ideal place for a restful break or for exploring central and the east coast of Scotland. Beach ½ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
