Keil Farmhouse is a charming detached cottage situated on the spectacular Argyllshire coast, just south of Duror village. Located within a working farm setting you can watch and enjoy the comings and goings of everyday farm life. The farm has a variety of livestock including wonderful gentle llamas.
The farmhouse dates back to the 1930’s and offers comfortable self catering accommodation for a family of five. All the rooms have a traditional wood panel lining and upstairs the ceilings are coombed. The large open plan country style kitchen/dining area is a great family space, with the Rayburn cooker providing a real warm heart to the room. The sitting room is comfy and cosy with a wood burning stove. The fully enclosed garden has outdoor furniture, mature planting and views out to Loch Linnhe and islands beyond. You have plenty of views across farmland and to Loch Linnhe. Keil Farmhouse is located on a working farm with livestock and farm machinery. The farm has two miles of shore front for you to explore.
The shingle beach is only a very short walk from the farmhouse and provides an abundance of opportunities for fishing, bird watching, beach combing or just watching the sun setting over the Morven Hills. You can launch a canoe or small dinghy from the beach or if you have a larger boat a slipway is available for a small fee at Linnhe Marina, only a short drive away, where boats can also be hired. Otters, seals, porpoises, buzzards, golden and sea eagles, and barn owls can be seen from the farm. Private visits to Castle Stalker may be arranged on occasions.
