Take a walk to Chanonry Lighthouse and the famous Bottle Nose Dolphins close-up viewing area and enjoy the fresh air as you take in the views, you may even spot some grey seals. Further afield, delve into history at the sombre Culloden Battlefield, exploring the site of the last battle fought on British soil and paying your respects at the memorial and visitor centre. Fort George, a still-functioning 1700s garrison fort, is a must-visit; with an impressive artillery fortification and splendid harbour views, it’s great for history enthusiasts.
