Guests say

Baldow Cottage is praised for its comfort, homely feel, and excellent location for exploring the Cairngorms. Guests enjoyed the wildlife, cosy open fire, and the Aga in the kitchen. Some concerns were raised about cleanliness, noise from nearby development, and the need for maintenance.

Guests reported issues with cleanliness, including unwashed dishes and cobwebs, suggesting room for improvement, but these were not universal complaints.

The location is generally appreciated for its proximity to attractions and nature, though some guests were disappointed with traffic noise and nearby development.

The cottage is frequently described as comfortable and cosy, with a warm Aga and comfortable beds, though some furniture was noted as worn.

Facilities like Sky TV and a well-equipped kitchen were well-received, but comments on the need for an additional bathroom and maintenance issues suggest some areas could be enhanced.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

is very unfortunate. We believed to have booked a remote cottage in the mountains north of and far from the A9. Instead the cottage is located inside Kincraig beside the B9152 which passes the garden and turned out to be very noisy from heavy traffic. Furthermore the images provided are not up to date esp. as far as the view out of the windows is concerned. You do not look out on to a nice meadow but at the houses of a new settlement. We recommend to let customers know this before booking. To find sleep in the first floor with the AGA oven set permanently to level 5 (as instructed by the owners) is a challenge when outside temperatures are above 25°C over the day and do not fall beneath 20°C at night. In the end we enjoyed our stay in Baldow Cottage because the surroundings are outstanding.

Obviously no interest in the property or the families that visit.

On arrival we noticed that the back door wouldn't open. On closer inspection it appears that the locking mechanism is broken and has been replaced with two very flimsy looking toilet door bolts. This resulted in a few sleepless nights due to the sense of vulnerability and I finished my holiday more tired than when I started. Lots of the cricket and dishes in the cupboard had food crumbs on them and we more or less washed all the dishes before using them. Aside from these two issues, this is a very nice holiday house.
