Approached via a single-track road, you can park in front of the property and admire your stunning rural setting, before heading inside into a small porch, where you can leave coats and shoes, before stepping into the wonderful open-plan living space. The seating area boasts fine oak flooring and a high wooden beamed ceiling, creating a spacious feel, with two inviting sofas placed around the woodburning stove, ideal for relaxing and enjoying a night in watching your favourite film on the TV. When it's time to catch up on rest, the master double bedroom offers dual aspect windows, taking advantage of the wonderful views, as well as providing Jack and Jill access to the bathroom, while the twin bedroom is ideal for younger guests and benefits from an en-suite shower rooms, so there will be no queuing for the bathroom in the mornings. You will also find a sizeable shed providing handy bike storage. Head into Laide village to find a grocery shop/Post Office and petrol station, as well as a church and the ruins of a medieval chapel; Follow the road behind the shop, and it takes you to beautiful Mellon Udrigle beach, named by Visit Scotland as “one of the most attractive pieces of coastline in Wester Ross". Just a few miles from the cottage is Gruinard Bay, known for its striking red sandy beaches and a backdrop of spectacular mountains, while the National Trust’s Inverewe botanical garden, founded in 1862 and displaying more than 2,500 exotic plants and flowers, is slightly further afield to the south west, along with Gairloch, which boasts a newly housed local Museum which won the Art Fund Museum of the Year Award in 2020. The Gale Centre café and community centre is open all year round and sells fresh home-made lunches, snacks, teas and coffees; It has wonderful views across to Skye, and with its woodburning stove and comfortable seating is the ideal place to settle down with your book, or admire the tasteful craft items and artworks. There is also a local golf course, and several hotels and eateries, as well as the harbour from where you can take a boat for wildlife-spotting. The town of Ullapool is around an hour's drive away, nestling on the shores of Loch Broom and overlooking the Summer Isles. The town dates back to the 18th century and was designed by Thomas Telford and boasts whitewashed buildings, lovely pubs and restaurants, shops, a coastal golf course and a museum and visitor centre.
