Seacot is a beautifully converted detached cottage situated right on the shores of Lochcarron in the heart of Wester Ross. Originally it was part of the outbuildings of a large house; this pretty cottage has been totally transformed by the current owners to provide a good standard of accommodation in a lovely and accessible location. Situated in the heart of the thriving and popular village of Lochcarron, the property is just steps away from the beautiful shoreline. It is a short walk to all the local amenities, including village shop, restaurant, café and pub, and Lochcarron Golf Course is also open to visitors. Set back from the road, Seacot has a small courtyard garden overlooking the bay. The living room has large bi-folding doors, solid wooden floors, a large wood burner and bright original paintings, all combining to make this room bright, warm and welcoming. Lochcarron village is set right on the shores of the sea loch, surrounded by the spectacular hills and mountains of Wester Ross. There are also a number of local crafts made in the area and regular craft markets are held throughout the summer season. The area is a haven for wildlife, with otters and seals to be seen along the shore-line, and dolphins have been spotted in the bay. There are some superb drives in this part of the Highlands, and a trip to Applecross via the highest pass in Britain is a must. Known as the ‘Pass of the Cattle’ and rising to over 2,000 feet, it affords amazing views across the Minch to the isles of Raasay and Skye. This is a paradise for lovers of the great outdoors, and there are unlimited sporting opportunities close by including, climbing, hill walking, fishing, canoeing, diving, sailing and cycling.
