Nairn is an attractive and lively seaside town dating back to Victorian times. It has long been a popular holiday destination and is just 16 miles from the town of Inverness. Nairn even lays claim to being one of the driest and sunniest places in the country! The town offers some of the top beaches in Scotland and cleanest bathing waters in Britain. Also, one of the only two dolphin colonies in the UK is based in the Moray Firth. Nairn is steeped in history and is closely linked with the Battle of Culloden, whilst nearby Fort George is Europes best preserved 18th century military fortification.

Paul the host was a great communicator and provided the cottage with everything. The store cupboard with spices and herbs was great as was the amount of kitchen equipment and lovely crockery too. Iâve stayed in quite a lot of cottages and Airbnb but this has been my favourite. Both my husband and daughter loved it too and we will definitely be going back.

The owner has thoughtfully provided clear instructions and information plus lots of interesting books and films. One thing that would have been helpful was an explanation of the unusual way properties are numbered in Society Street, with a clear diagram. It took us a while to find it, and the supermarket delivery man had the same problem.

Ideally situated to enjoy the stunningly beautiful Moray Firth coastline it was also positioned to enjoy the peaceful location of Fishertown. The welcome pack was just a small part of Paulâs consideration for his guests, not intrusive but ensuring the comfort of our stay. While we werenât able to use the garden area because of the time of year, it appeared to us to be perfect for relaxing at any time. We had an absolutely wonderful holiday. Teresa March 2024
