Spean Bridge 2.7 miles. This lovely, detached annexe is set within the grounds of the owner's property just outside the hamlet of Gairlochy in the Scottish Highlands. Enjoying picturesque views over the River Lochy and glen, Little Tigh Clovelly is an idyllic escape for couples wanting to break away from their everyday routines. As soon as you arrive at the cottage, you will notice the tranquility of the area, instantly putting you at ease. The downstairs is open-plan and is finished to a quality standard, as well as benefiting from plenty of natural lighting. Gather in the sitting area to enjoy a family movie, or make use of the fitted kitchen and rustle up a fine feast. After an evening of relaxation and good food, retire to the bedroom and make yourself comfortable in the lavish king-size double bed. Wake up to a stunning view from the bedroom window before enjoying a refreshing shower in the en-suite shower room. Outside this dwelling is a decked area with seating where you can enjoy your morning cup of tea whilst taking in those picture-postcard views. A short drive to the village of Spean Bridge is recommended, offering a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, which is ideal if you want a night off cooking, or the delightful Old Pines Hotel And Restaurant which is just over a mile away. The area is perfect for any outdoor enthusiast, offering a range of outdoor activities from cycling, walking, climbing and skiing. The little but attractive village of Spean Bridge is located at the southern end of the Great Glen and is best known for its iconic Commando Memorial. Some additional extras eg candles, tissues and spices, condiments in the kitchen were a nice touch. Also a great base for hillwalking. Would definitely stay here again.

The cottage is comfortable, exceptionally clean and very well equipped with absolutely everything you might need taken care of. It sits in a beautiful, peaceful location with spectacular views. We were met on arrival at the cottage, and again when we left, Mathew and Edith are lovely hosts and we were made to feel very welcome. We would highly recommend Little Tigh Clovelly if you're thinking about visiting this area. The only thing missing, and its very trivial, was a guests comments book, its always nice to leave a little comment for your host and look at other guests tips for the area. Until the next time!!

The annex was very clean comfortable (very comfy sofa with a great view of a low ridge as the sunsets and lots of wee birds on the feeders, comfy bed and well equipped kitchen too). For us, it was a great base for hill walking, there are more Munros than you could possibly climb on a week long holiday within an hours drive, and plenty much closer too. I'd recommend the Carn Mor Derag followed by the CMD arret (airy scramble) up to Ben Nevis if you are comfortable with scrabbling.
