Bettyhill 8.3 miles. Tucked away in the Scottish Highlands in the quaint hamlet of Skerray, near Bettyhill is this delightfully rustic detached cottage. Boasting exceptional views of the surrounding hills and countryside, alongside being within easy reach of nature activities and Skerray Bay Beach, this is a charming setting for a group of five who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Ample off-road parking for four vehicles greets you on arrival, take a moment to pause and relish your panoramic vista of the Highlands's countryside. Hang your coats up in the porch before stepping into a pleasant sitting room, unwind on the leather seating as you put on a family-favourite on the Smart TV; switch on the woodburning stove for extra warmth! For more space to relax, progress through to the lovely living/dining room for more seating to stretch out on whilst the fire crackles away in the background. The welcoming kitchen is well-equipped for your culinary needs, rustle up a home-cooked favourite with its array of appliances before enjoying them with your group at the dining table next door. As the day draws to a close, find a single room downstairs with an easily accessible wet room that is ideal for those with limited mobility; before heading upstairs to find two tastefully decorated king-sizes with plenty of storage for your belongings.     Dreadful directions - would never have found it without asking locals. Spacious house. Quirky layout - nice. Comfortable seating & bed. Road leading to house very rough. Extremely poor internet - very unreliable meaning could hardly access internet nor watch the single channel on the smart tv. House only superficially clean - needs a deep clean & cleaning maintained throughout - grimy kitchen, appliances, crockery, towels, utensils & cutlery. Lots of cobwebs & dirty windows. Very limited cutlery & crockery - if 5 people would really struggle. Nice views. 3 x impromptu visits to house & garden areas from host - 2 x in evening - not great. Plenty firewood to use but did not need to do this - central heating was good. House needs to be given a bit of care, time and attention to make it what it could be. Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. Improve internet or inform of how poor it is. Update crockery, towels, utensils & cutlery. No impromptu visits - when you have guests it’s not “your home”.

    I suggest the folowing:- House is not visible from the road but along an unmarked track from a minor road that leaves the A836 to go to Skerray, then loops back to the A836 From Tongue go east to the turning to Skerry and follow the road. DO NOT take the turning marked Achnabat. The track is a few yards past the turning to Clashaidie and on the right. From Bettyhill direction on the A836 going west take the road to Borgie. The track is just after Achtotty on the left. Satnav 58.531188,-4.296317 will take you the start of the track. OS 25,000 Map 448 NC 66394 62627 is the location of the house which has no sign.

    the directions to get to the property are wrong; many of the people living in the area are in-comers so you need to find one of the locals to tell you where to find the property. I asked Sykes twice about directions but got no satisfactory answer
