Guests consistently praise Otakaro for its spotless condition, stunning location with beautiful views, and comfortable furnishings. The property serves as an excellent base for exploring the Cairngorms and Highlands, with wildlife sightings and village amenities enhancing the experience. While some minor issues are noted, the overall sentiment is one of eagerness to return.
Reviewers unanimously mention the property's spotless and well-maintained state, indicating a high level of cleanliness.
The property's location is frequently highlighted for its excellent views, proximity to nature, and convenient access to local attractions and amenities.
Comfort is well-regarded with mentions of cosy furnishings and a warm atmosphere, though one comment about uncomfortable beds suggests a slight deduction.
Facilities are generally praised for being well-equipped and comprehensive, but there are minor criticisms regarding the ease of use for older guests and a lack of washing supplies.
While guests appreciate the provision of basics and a welcome pack, there is insufficient information to evaluate the consistency of thoughtful gestures such as gifts, and thus the score is set to null.

Being located just south of Inverness, it is also a convenient starting point for the North Coast 500 and access to the Cairngorms National Park. Highly recommended.

Spotlessly clean cottage, tranquil and beautifully furnished. We felt instantly at home, the kitchen is well equipped and the beds, chairs and sofa were all very comfortable. Tomintoul is a pleasant village, surrounded by beautiful countryside with lovely walks on the doorstep. Enjoyed watching hares in the fields below the house, and seeing siskin, redpoll and all manner of birdlife in the meadowed area behind the back door! We really didn't want to leave, and hope to return again one day!
