The Retreat is a semi-detached, three-bedroom cottage which has been refurbished in 2019 and offers guests a very good level of quality throughout, situated 40m from the beach, it offers guests a very comfortable space. In the spacious living room, there is a sofa and two chairs with a Smart TV. The kitchen was recently renovated in March 2021, it is well appointed and provides a good level of appliances, dishwasher, under-counter fridge with icebox, a dining table and chairs to sit around, and a small laundry area. Also on the ground floor is a master bedroom with a super king-size bed and Smart TV, a twin bedroom and a bathroom with a rainfall shower. On the first floor is a second living area ideal for the kids with a Smart TV, games console, DVDs and bean bags. There is also a further double bedroom on this floor. Outside is a private enclosed courtyard with a seating area and private parking.

The village of Portknockie is on the coast, just a few miles from the thriving town of Buckie. There are plenty of walks available around the local area, try walking to nearby Findochty or Cullen to sample the local soup, Cullen skink.

For golf enthusiasts, both Cullen and Buckie golf courses are close by, and of course you can’t visit this part of Scotland and not try the world class whisky distilleries, with Macduff, Strathisla and Bells close by. The Scottish Dolphin Centre, situated at the beautiful Spey Bay, is approximately 12 miles away and certainly a must-see attraction, while the larger town of Elgin is just 20 miles away.
