Gardener's Cottage in the Scottish Borders is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its cosy comfort, beautiful and peaceful surroundings, and dog-friendly environment. Guests appreciate the warm welcome and the cottage's location as a base for exploring local towns and the coastline. The property's grounds and the presence of art studios add to its charm.
Most guests found the cottage clean and well-presented. However, a few noted instances of cobwebs, dog hairs, and a full vacuum cleaner bag, suggesting occasional lapses in thoroughness.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, proximity to local attractions, and suitability for dog walking. Its accessibility to both the Scottish Borders and Northumberland coast is a highlight.
Guests consistently describe the cottage as cosy, warm, and comfortable, with comfy sofas and beds. The presence of two bathrooms is appreciated, although there are some comments about cold upstairs rooms.
The cottage is well-equipped with necessary amenities, though some guests mention issues with Wi-Fi, a small TV, and maintenance needs like broken heaters. The presence of art studios and friendly animals on the property is a plus.
While guests mention thoughtful touches like chocolates, tea, coffee, and biscuits, there is not enough information to determine if such gifts are consistent or guaranteed, thus a score cannot be provided.

We had to cut the holiday short due to family issues at home. But everything was perfect with the holiday.

Convenient for visiting the border towns and within walking distance of the Allanton Inn which is a nice visit. Appreciated being able to bring our pet and would like to stay again in the future.

Really quiet area with only the noise from pheasants and owls. The cottage is well over 150 years old but has been modernized with lounge/kitchen open plan, washer dryer and dishwasher and oven and hob what more could you want, upstairs two large bedrooms one ensuite one family with large bath. The grounds are really nice and the two giraffe statues are cool. There are loads of walks all around for you and your four legged friend. You really feel your in the middle of nowhere but only a short drive from restaurants and shops. If we're ever back in this area again we'll definitely be booking again.
