A traditional 18th century detached cottage in Tyndrum in Scotland. Well-furnished to provide comfortable accommodation, this cottage is perfect for families or groups to come and enjoy this beautiful part of Scotland. Step up the two steps into this white cottage, and two steps down into the warming family sitting room, a well-presented room with comfortable seating, Sky TV and a stunning feature fireplace with a woodburning stove. The kitchen and dining area is well-appointed with stylish fixtures and fittings and a traditional bench at the dining table. The ground floor is complete with a family shower room and two cosy, well-furnished bedrooms with scenic views towards the surrounding countryside. The first floor comes with two well-decorated twin bedrooms with ample storage and more excellent views. To the rear of The Auld Tyndrum Cottage is a large well-kept lawn with charming furniture and two rivers bordering the property. Tyndrum village centre is just a short walk away, a place offering restaurants, pubs and shops. There is also two railway stations should you want to travel further afield. There is plenty of walking and cycling opportunities nearby in the Lock Lomond National Park. Glencoe and and Inverary are both places worth visiting also. The Auld Tyndrum Cottage is a fantastic cottage in a stunning rural location.
Tyndrum began bringing cattle from the Highlands to markets in central Scotland. Its importance for travel in the Highlands is still there today with two railway stations and a petrol station on the road which divides just north of the village to go to either Oban or north to Rannoch Moor. Tyndrum has a Tourist Information Centre, restaurants, a pub and the Green Welly Stop with restaurant. For walkers, the West Highland Way passes through the village and continues north to the majestic Rannoch Moor and spectacular Glencoe.
