Guests say

The Old Post Office receives high praise for its stunning location, immaculate presentation, and cosy comfort. Guests are charmed by the thoughtful touches from the owners, Johan and Donald, and the property's cleanliness is consistently lauded. With its well-equipped facilities and tranquil setting, it's a highly recommended retreat for exploring Harris and enjoying the serene Hebridean landscape.

Reviewers unanimously commend the property's spotless condition, highlighting its pristine cleanliness as a standout feature, which reflects the owners' meticulous attention to detail.

The property boasts a breathtaking location with stunning views over the Minch and easy access to local attractions. Its peaceful setting is frequently mentioned, although the lack of comments on accessibility to amenities prevents a perfect score.

Guests find the property to be very comfortable, with cosy furnishings and a warm atmosphere. The presence of a wood burner adds to the comfort on cooler days, and the quality of the beds is praised.

The cottage is described as well-equipped and tastefully furnished, with a special mention of the kitchen's high-grade utensils. The well-stocked library and additional storage are appreciated, though no specific mention of maintenance prevents a full score.

The owners' thoughtfulness is evident through the generous welcome packages and gifts, such as local treats and Harris Tweed items. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is politely noted that such gifts, though likely, are not guaranteed.

Such a beautiful location in a quiet area of Harris but only a 10 minute drive down to Tarbert. The facilities are the best ever, every room so comfortable, love all the Harris Tweed cushions, seat coverings etc. Everything and more in the kitchen. Hospitality tray and little Harris Tweed keyrings and bookmarks for us too as gifts. Lovely friendly owners.

The cottage is furnished and decorated with love and a lot of local products. We loved the (color) themed rooms with matching Harris tweed blankets and pillows, the little glass decoration, coasters/place mats and local art (you can actually buy lots of the things in the shops around the island). We got a very warm welcome by the owner and lovely welcome gifts which were very appreciated. You'll find lots of information (leaflets and flyers) and books (guides for hiking, books about the local history etc) for planning your stay. I even managed to read a Peter May novel. The cottage was very well equipped, I didn't miss a thing (had fun cooking and baking in this kitchen), you even get plenty of towels (really good when you are planning on going to the beach). We loved our stay and I can wholeheartedly recommend this place.
