Guests have had delightful stays at 7A Ardroil, praising its excellent facilities, superb library, and the stunning Uig beach nearby. The cottage's comfort, homely atmosphere, and thoughtful touches like local guides and chessmen are frequently mentioned. Some minor maintenance issues and suggestions for improvement are noted, but overall, the experiences have been very positive, with many eager to return.
The property generally receives high marks for cleanliness. However, one guest mentioned it was not as clean as usual, and another noted unclean kitchen items. These seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.
The location is consistently lauded for its proximity to Uig beach and stunning walks. Guests appreciate the natural beauty and wildlife, making it an ideal spot for exploration and relaxation.
The cottage is described as comfortable and homely, with comfy beds and a wood burner for added cosiness. One guest mentioned hard mattresses, but overall, the comfort level is highly rated.

While many reviews express appreciation for the personal touches and local information provided, there is no mention of gifts, so it is not possible to score this category. It should be noted that while guests have enjoyed the thoughtful amenities, gifts are not guaranteed.

Stornoway is the only town in the Outer Hebrides and is a bustling and growing area with a busy working harbour, a great selection of shops selling local gifts including Harris Tweed, leisure facilities and wonderful award-winning restaurants selling locally sourced food of the highest quality. Lewis is a place where the lilting Gaelic language is spoken everywhere! Visitors to the town will find plenty to keep them occupied, the magnificent Lews Castle Grounds and the iconic Lews Castle, many good museums and art galleries and also a smart golf course and clubhouse. The large, quiet sandy beaches are close by and provide visitors with wonderful views and the town itself forms a great base for a holiday exploring the unique islands that form the Outer Hebrides. On the north west side of Lewis you can visit the village of Arnol with its Blackhouse Museum, an unmissable visit for anyone wanting to understand the way of life that was once widespread in Lewis. Carloway Broch is nearby and is another fascinating landmark and incredibly well preserved. The Callanish Stones from the Neolithic are also well worth visiting. The whalebone arch and numerous Iron Age dwellings on stunning Bosta beach make for great days out. The friendliness of the local people will astound visitors to the islands and you cannot fail to be impressed with the genteel and contented pace of life you will encounter here.

Itâs one of my favourite places. However my wife was quick to point out that it didnât seem as clean as normal, and without question there seemed to be much less in the kitchen in the way of untensils, crockery etc. we were also not given the correct access information. There was no key under the stone as advised but a key safe and we were not given a code!

Like its smaller neighbour, the property was warm, comfortable and very well equipped and furnished - we wanted for nothing! The location is excellent, a mere 10 minute walk to the deserted beaches, even less to the few hundred thousand acres of wild, rugged, unfrequented hill and mountain ground. Wildlife in abundance, with eagles & deer daily visitors. The local keyholders, Anna and Kenny, were very friendly and helpful throughout.

Facilities were excellent and the wood burner added to our comfort, very relaxing holiday in beautiful scenery. Would be very happy to return x Anne Macaskill
