About this property

This detached bungalow lies within Llanfaelog, next to the popular village of Rhosneigr, Anglesey. Complete with off-road parking and enclosed garden, Awelfryn is a wonderful choice for a family of six looking to escape to this wonderful corner of North Wales. After a day on the beach, wash away the sand in the shower before heading to the sitting room to unwind, complete with a corner sofa, a woodburning stove and a TV. When hunger picks up, head into the kitchen and rustle up a tasty feast, making use of the electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, whilst the washing machine ensures you won’t have to bring your whole wardrobe. Gather at the dining table or take the evening outside and enjoy alfresco dining from the picnic bench. As the night grows darker, retreat to the bedrooms, with a king-size, double, and twin on offer, each neutrally presented. Start your morning with a fresh coffee before embarking on walk around the local area; Rhosneigr provides a wealth of amenities including many shops and eateries, plus there’s a great range of activities from swimming, rock pooling, sailing, and windsurfing. Discover archaeological sites at Llanfaelog and Cable Bay, the Trac Mon racetrack and Coed Cwr y Pwll, a National Forest that is home to woodland, wildflower meadows, and a tranquil pond. Venture to the nearby seaside resort of Trearddur Bay, offering a selection of exciting attractions and sights to discover including The Trefignath Burial Chambers, a trio of Neolithic tombs, as well as the scenic Porth Diana Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve, a well-maintained mix of grassland and heathland boasting breath-taking views across the coastline of Anglesey. However you choose to spend your holiday time, a break at Awelfryn is sure to bring fond memories.

On Anglesey's stunning west coast, the well-liked seaside community of Rhosneigr is well-known for its breathtaking cliffs and magnificent sandy beaches. The settlement has a rich history that includes a chapel from the sixth century, stories of smugglers, well-known offshore shipwrecks, and its status as a chic vacation spot since the Edwardian era. It is currently recognised for its beautiful beaches and world-class watersports, offering some of the UK's best windsurfing and kitesurfing, with instruction accessible in the hamlet. Fishing, sailing, sand yachting, wreck diving, golf, and hours of family entertainment on the expansive sandy beaches are among the activities available. The market towns of Llangefni and Holyhead, which serve as the starting point for day trips to Dublin, as well as the city of Bangor are all conveniently located nearby. The hamlet itself has a number of pubs, restaurants, and stores. The RAF Valley, famous for housing Prince William's Air Sea Rescue training facility, is close to Rhosneigr. While Pili Palas Butterfly Garden, Anglesey Sea Zoo, and Beaumaris Castle all on the island, the Anglesey Racing Circuit is also nearby and fantastic for fans of car and motorcycle racing. See nesting puffins and guillemots on boat tours around Puffin Island, or travel to the mainland to explore Victorian Llandudno's shops, eateries, and dry ski slope, the Snowdonia mountains, and the beaches of the Llyn Peninsula.

Not mentioned on Sykes website. (Not ideal for pay-as-you-go mobiles.) Crockery, pots, pans and cutlery had to be washed before use. All windows very dirty inside and out. Recycling boxes stored in inaccessible place ie very high steps at side of property. Not been emptied for some period of time. To sum up, probably the worst Sykes cottage we have rented. Obviously not checked by area manager.
