Guests say

Tri Raglan Bach in Beaumaris is praised for its superb location, stylish decor, and comfortable furnishings. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like Welsh cakes and milk, though some mention issues with noise from upstairs and a need for better soundproofing. The property's cleanliness and maintenance receive mixed reviews, with some guests encountering cleanliness issues and maintenance needs.

Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with several guests finding the property immaculate, while others report issues such as a muddy shower tray and dust. The property seems generally well-kept, but there are instances where deeper cleaning is suggested.

The location is consistently lauded for being central, close to amenities, and offering superb views. It is a standout feature of the property, contributing significantly to guests' enjoyment.

Comfort is well-regarded, with guests finding the property warm, cosy, and the beds comfortable. However, noise from the upstairs apartment affects the comfort level for some guests.

Facilities receive positive comments for being well-appointed and beautifully furnished. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as a broken bathroom extractor, lack of Wi-Fi, and insufficient kitchen utensils, which impacts the score.

Guests mention thoughtful gestures like the provision of Welsh cakes and milk, which are well-received. However, as not all reviews reference such gifts, and to ensure expectations are managed, it's noted that these are not guaranteed.

About this property

The owners have taken great pride in restoring this Grade 2 listed Georgian house in Beaumaris into a stunning luxury apartment. Whilst retaining many of the original features such as the exposed brick and stone walls and the sanded and polished floorboards, the contemporary and quality furnishings gives this apartment a classic look.

The modern kitchen has an oven, hob, fridge with ice compartment, slimline dishwasher, microwave and toaster. There is a dining table and four dining chairs. The living area has a comfortable sofa and chair, window seat, wood burning stove and SMART TV.

There are two double bedrooms one has a king size bed and the other has a double. There is a wet room with shower, loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.

The rear private courtyard has garden furniture and there is a front shared courtyard with garden bench.

As with most houses in Beaumaris there is no private parking. The Green parking is very close by and you can purchase daily or weekly tickets.

Tri Raglan Bach is on the ground floor and perfect for those who are not too keen on stairs. Access to the seafront and the town of Beaumaris itself is also on one level. The beach is a short walk away, with crabbing and fishing on the pier, coffee shops, ice cream parlours, independent shops and galleries, and the historic moated castle, gaol and courthouse.

You will find a selection of bars, pubs and restaurants nearby. We can recommend the local bakery for a fine loaf of bread, delicious pies and pasties and, of course, delicious cakes.

If your party is large you could also book Tri Raglan Mawr which sleeps 8 people.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.

We were aware of noise from guests in the apartment above but it didn't bother us. The only disappointment was the outside seating area which looked amazing in the photo on the website but had obviously been neglected and needed some attention.

It was the only one on the street that needed painting and the front was very untidy. The bathroom needs storage there was no toilet roll holder or any where for you tooth brushes. But the property inside was beautiful and the main bedroom was gorgeous. I would stay there again. Regards Arlene Bancroft

No bedside table, chest of drawers, or mirror even! There were 3 of us so my sister said she would have the 2nd bedroom but it’s really not acceptable. The bottle holder in the fridge door was broken which wasn’t mentioned beforehand. This meant that we couldn’t stand up any bottles. We laid the mild down and it leaked. The owner didn’t seem aware and said it couldn’t be fixed during our stay. There were 2 dinner plates. It’s accommodation for 4! We contacted the owner and 2 were delivered. The cooker hood didn’t work. The owner said they would have it looked at, but not during our stay. There are no coat hooks inside the property, but in the communal hallway. We weren’t prepared to hang our expensive walking coats out there. In the hall in the property, there is room for a coat rail, but instead there is a pointless bird cage which sticks out a long way and we all banged our heads on. There is nowhere to hang wet coats. The floor was sticky and dirty. The wifi, which only worked in the lounge, packed up after 3 days. The owner said it was an Openreach issue, so for the majority of our holiday we were using our phone data. There is no information about which days the bins are collected and no recycling bins that we could find.
