Fern Hill Cottage is a well-equipped property in a peaceful location, ideal for exploring Anglesey and enjoying local walks. Guests appreciate the proximity to Newborough Forest and beach, and the cottage's cleanliness and homely feel. While some guests found the property comfortable and cosy, others noted areas for improvement in maintenance and facilities.
The property generally maintains good cleanliness, with guests finding it clean and tidy upon arrival. However, some guests noted dust and crumbs in less visible areas, and outdoor furniture that required cleaning, suggesting room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for its quietness and proximity to local amenities, walks, and Newborough Forest. The convenience of the village store and the scenic surroundings contribute to a positive experience, although some guests mentioned noise from nearby roadworks.
Guests found the beds comfortable and the conservatory a pleasant space, but some reviews mentioned cramped rooms and a lack of comfort in the living areas. The mixed feedback suggests that while the property is cosy for some, it may not meet everyone's comfort needs.
The cottage is equipped with necessary appliances and the kitchen is well-regarded. However, guests reported issues with electrical appliances, plumbing, and a lack of storage for outdoor equipment. These maintenance concerns have impacted the overall experience.
There is insufficient information regarding the presence of welcome gifts or additional thoughtful touches provided by the hosts. As such, it is not possible to accurately assess the thoughtfulness category.

I'll be back sometime to see the Llyn Peninsula, a short drive away, and more. Cottage is soon warmed up on return from a day out especially with the aid of the log burner, the air fryer was an additional bonus in the kitchen.

There are some nice walks in the local area. The cottage was clean and well equipped. Parking space on the drive is plenty big enough. The mattress on the bed in the second bedroom was very comfy. Main bedroom mattress was fine just not as comfy as the other (but this is personal preference, someone could easily have the opposite opinion). The beach was a ten minute drive, we kept reading in various places about paying a toll fee but we never had to, possibly this has been replaced by a parking charge instead? Parking at the beach car park ranged from £2 for 2 hours up to a maximum daily charge of £7 which is quite reasonable, so best to make a whole day of it. The beach is lovely, together with the island and the dunes. There are some areas of the beach where dogs are allowed and others where dogs are not allowed. Unfortunately some people either cannot read or chose to ignore this sign, so if you aren't a fan of dogs just be aware that you will still encounter them in the banned area! We had a great few days in Newborough and in this property, would definitely book again.

On the whole it was good just a bit of grouting on sink in bathroom and unusual no welcome pack but really enjoyed the place and the area
