Located in the picturesque village of Trearddur bay on the West of Anglesey Ty Gwyrdd Golau is a real delight. Part of the Tyn Towyn development that has been finished to an exceptional standard you are a short walk to the beach, pubs and restaurants. If you would prefer to relax and not move too far there are some lovely spots in between the flower beds and young trees to get lost in a good book.
Each of the cottages on the development are named after the colour of the front door. In this case Ty Gwyrdd Golau standing for ‘Light Green House’. It is the smaller of the cottages on site but makes up for it in interior and character.
The sitting room has a lovely comfy sofa with flat screen TV and a warming electric fire. The kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm and is located on the back wall of the open plan living space.
There is a 4” bed upstairs with an adjoining shower room with wash hand basin, loo and power shower.
There is ample parking on the grounds with an internet room, pretty fountain and plenty of space to unwind after a long coastal walk.
Trearddur Bay is situated on the western shore of Holy Island. It’s truly beautiful - a great sweep of low grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine sandy beaches (European Blue Flag). Watersports, bathing, sailing and windsurfing are the main activities in the summer months and golfers will enjoy the excellent Holyhead 18 hole links golf course. It’s a great place for nature lovers with renowned birdwatching at the South Stack Lighthouse rspb Reserve and lots of rock pools and cliff top walks to explore. There are shops, pubs and restaurants in Trearddur Bay itself and nearby Holyhead offers a wider range of amenities, including a very good leisure centre, an interesting harbour front, a marina, the world’s second longest breakwater and exciting day trips to Dublin on the ferry. The Maritime Museum in Holyhead has an excellent cafe and the beautiful Holyhead Breakwater Country Park has walks for you to enjoy. Further afield there is the stunning Newborough with its excellent woodland and beach and Beaumaris with its town and castle. A great location with plenty to see and do!

Overall, really pleased with this property. Just the right size for me, everything I needed for a solo 9-day stay. My only negatives would be: oddly, only 1 wine glass in the cupboard (can't help to think if a couple stayed); the freezer part of the fridge hasn't been defrosted in a year or more, it is compacted ice, so I couldn't use it; as mentioned by previous reviews, the walls are thin, for 3/4 days mid-stay the cottage to the rear (No.7) had some pretty noisy people in moving furniture & dragging boxes around, every drawer opened and closed resonates into No.6. On the estate, I was a little perturbed by a knock on the door late one afternoon, a man peering through the window at me... on opening the door he asked to 'test the smoke detector'. He had no ID when asked. I then noticed that he simply let himself into the next properties he wanted to check... what if I'd have been upstairs in the shower or bed, would he have just let himself in ? One of the comfiest beds I've encountered... I'd certainly stay again.

A folder of instructions for the heating etc would be helpful as with the weather it was quite cold at times. Pillow protectors are always a good idea and were missing. The bed is very soft and the bathroom would not suit taller or larger people but we had a nice stay
