About this property

St Clear 4.1 miles. Ty Cwtch, based in the heart of southwest Wales, is the ideal location for couples to experience the perfect, romantic mix of a coastal and countryside getaway. This detached cottage, finished to a very high standard throughout, features a contemporary open-plan kitchen, dining and living room which is flooded with natural light via the French doors that lead out into your enclosed garden. Here you can enjoy some sunshine, watch as the animals play, dine alfresco with a barbecue, or roast some marshmallows on the fire pit whilst you take in the picture-perfect, postcard views down across the serene, wooded valley. Its spacious kitchen area allows you to enjoy cooking romantic meals for two that can be savoured at the dining area, before you settle in beside the electric fire stove with a good book and a glass of your favourite beverage. When night falls, freshen up in the bathroom before settling down for the night in the lovely double bedroom, which boasts its own Smart TV. Set a short drive from the market town of St Clears, you can find an array of shops and local restaurants within. A vineyard and spa can be found just over two miles from your lovely new dwelling. The magnificent coastline is reachable just a short drive from your front door, home to the bustling coastal resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot that enjoy their own tranquil fishing harbours, offering golden beaches, boutique gift shops and irresistible restaurants, with freshly caught fish a constant feature on their menus. A brief car trip will bring you to the market town of Narberth, which is famous for its award-winning chocolate shop, antique gift shops and elegant restaurants that are dotted around the town. Discover some of the country’s most iconic historic sites, such as Pembroke and Carew Castles along with the picturesque town of Laugharne, with its 12th-century castle that overlooks an estuary, being also nearby and most famous for its links with poet Dylan Thomas, as well as its country pubs and live music scene during the summer months. Further afield, the spectacular straight stretch of Pendine Sands is one of the longest beaches in the UK at just over seven miles and is worth a visit whilst you’re in the region. The world land speed record has been broken here many times, and it truly is an ideal spot for water sports, wild swimming and walks in the salty air.

Between Carmarthen and the Pembrokeshire coast's beach resorts is the little village of St. Clears. The region is perfect for walkers, cyclists, and explorers alike and is great for visiting the South Wales coastline. The mound of the 12th-century St. Clears Castle can still be seen in St. Clears, which also includes a number of shops, taverns, and restaurants. St. Clears also holds numerous festivals and carnivals throughout the year. Folly Farm, Oakwood Theme Park, and the Heron's Brook Golfing and Fishing Center are all close to St. Clears. See the Dylan Thomas Boathouse, Tenby, Laugharne Castle, and the famed Botanic and Aberglasney Gardens. There is easy access to breathtaking landscape in all directions, including the Preselli Mountains, the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, and Gower, the Brecon Beacons and the Gower Peninsula. With something for everyone, South Wales is a fantastic base for exploration.

Nothing is a problem for them. Our cottage was a joy and as we were there for the Christmas week every room was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Well equipped and very comfortable. We were welcomed by Leon brandishing a plate of delicious pastries for us to try! Yummy! They even left a bottle of mulled wine and Christmas Bakewell tarts on the table. But the jewel in this idyllic Welsh Crown was the little "egg house" with a variety of eggs from their own chickens. The best eggs we have had in a long time. This is a brilliant location for families with dogs and/or children. There is a brilliant totally enclosed field for dogs of all sizes, accessed down a private and safe lane. Ty Cwtch has its own totally enclosed large garden which was much enjoyed by our two tiny doggies so you can let them out and leave them to play. There are rescue horses, sheep, gorgeous nosey goats who will come to the fence for a head scratch, and those chickens who gift us those wonderful eggs. The view across the valleys is as stunning as is the peace and quiet. We are planning a return in the summer. Highly recommended.
