Penglanowen Fawr is a well-received cottage, praised for its tranquil and beautiful setting, updated interiors, and welcoming atmosphere. Guests enjoyed the surrounding wildlife, the enclosed garden, and the property's seclusion. The owners are commended for their responsiveness and hospitality. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, but overall, the cottage offers a comfortable and homely stay.
The cottage is generally described as clean and tidy, with a few isolated comments about the need for more thorough vacuuming and the presence of cobwebs and dead spiders. However, these seem to be exceptions in the overall positive feedback about cleanliness.
The location is highly praised for its stunning views, tranquility, and proximity to Aberystwyth and local beaches. The remote setting is appreciated by those seeking a peaceful retreat, although it requires driving to access shops and amenities.
Guests find the cottage comfortable and homely, with a cosy atmosphere and well-kept interiors. Some guests mentioned the beds being firm, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.
Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and garden play area for children. However, there are reports of maintenance issues such as a broken boiler, rising damp, and a blocked drain. The presence of a smart TV and good WiFi are positives.
The owners are thoughtful, providing a welcome book, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and Welsh cakes. While these gestures are appreciated, it is noted that such gifts may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.
