Guests say

Delyn Aur is a cottage with stunning sea views and a short stroll to a peaceful beach. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, ample parking, and the welcome touches such as a basket of goodies. The newly refurbished bathroom is a highlight, and the property's location is ideal for exploring the surrounding areas. While some areas are noted for needing updates and a deep clean, the charm of the location and the ongoing renovations show promise for future stays.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Several reviews mention the need for a deeper clean, with comments on dust, a dirty oven, and a stained settee. However, bedding and towels are noted as clean, suggesting inconsistency in cleanliness standards.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to the beach, sea views, and peaceful surroundings. It serves as an excellent base for coastal walks and visiting local pubs.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the central heating efficient. Some discomfort is noted due to moths and a damp atmosphere in parts of the property.

The property boasts a well-equipped kitchen and a modern bathroom. However, updates are needed in other areas, and there are mentions of moths and a lack of a dishwasher. The presence of a new outside dining set is a positive aspect.

Guests are delighted by thoughtful touches like a basket of goodies and milk in the fridge upon arrival. While these gestures are appreciated, they may not be guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

This detached single storey 'colonial-style' bungalow, built in the 1950s, provides an idyllic holiday location, being just a short distance from the Blue Flag Tresaith beach. There is a range of facilities on offer, a café, shop, the Ship Inn and public toilets all within a stone’s throw of the beach and are requisites to be awarded a Blue Flag.

The beach has golden sand, a waterfall and is flanked by dramatic cliffs. Children love exploring the rock pools exposed at low tide on either end of the beach. Coastal walks lead you to more sandy beaches at Penbryn, Aberporth and Llangrannog.

Cardigan Bay is famous for its resident bottlenose dolphins and you may be lucky enough to spot them from the beach at Tresaith or a little further up the coast at New Quay, where you can go on dolphin spotting boat trips and be rarely disappointed of a sighting.

Tresaith is a pretty, bustling seaside village sitting on the stunning Ceredigion coastline. Benefitting from a popular local pub and shop, it is just one of many gems dotted along the coast. Tresaith is equidistant from Aberporth and Llangrannog, both equally attractive bays, and worth a walk along the extensive coastal path that stretches away in both directions. Tresaith offers the opportunity to see an abundance of flora and fauna, and to glimpse some of Ceredigion Bay’s resident dolphins and grey seals. The popular town of Cardigan is a few miles away, and there is plenty of beautiful countryside and coastline to explore. A perfect location to while away a few days of relaxation.

My second stay and it was just as wonderful as before : a lovely 1930s style bungalow (unspoilt - still has some lovely features and has not been modernised into the current trend of down lights, bifolds and greyness) in an amazing location. Tresaith beach with waterfall is lovely ( with dolphins and oystercatchers a common sighting) as are nearby Aberporth, Penbryn (including the Plwmp Tart cafe) and New Quay (with more dolphins). Some stunning coastal walks right from the front door. Ship Inn in tresaith and Gwbert Hotel recommended for dinner. And a lovely terrace with outside seating to enjoy beach and sunset views. Bliss. Hope to visit again soon.

The listing was accurate in terms of the decor - it does need quite a bit of updating. But because it was listed as such it did not concern us. The bathroom was clearly quite new and very well done. If the owners update the rest of the house to that standard then it will be lovely. The kitchen was okay, with everything required, but again needs updating. There were only two of us for this stay, and I would have thought this would be quite small for 6 people. If it were me I would punch through the two front bedrooms into one and have a large 'grand' bedroom with an amazing view. The smell of oil took some getting used to, but I guess that is normal for that kind of heating? There is plenty of parking - probably 3 or 4 cars in its own drive area, so no worries about that. The beach is a 30-second walk away and the pub is about 60 seconds (!). The pub has great food and is really worth a visit if you are not up for cooking. If you are a dog owner you can take your dog in. You are able to walk the coast paths north or south right from the house. All-in-all a relaxing stay, and exactly what we expected.
