Guests say

Sea Rose is a well-decorated cottage appreciated for its location, ideal for exploring the coastline. Guests have enjoyed the quality of towels and bedding, and the welcoming touch of Welshcakes and fresh milk. However, there have been concerns about cleanliness and maintenance that were addressed during some stays.

Several reviews mention issues with cleanliness, including dirty bed linen, kitchenware, and general untidiness. Some guests noted improvements after complaints, but the recurring theme suggests a need for better cleaning practices.

The cottage is well-situated for exploring the coastline, with proximity to Aberporth and its beach. However, some guests found the nearby busy road and lack of pavement less convenient.

Guests have reported that the double bed mattress is uncomfortable and needs replacing. The property has single beds that were used as an alternative, indicating some comfort issues.

The property has had issues with maintenance, such as a rusty microwave, oven, and a rotting bench. Some facilities have been replaced following feedback, but there are still areas needing attention.

While some guests appreciated the Welshcakes and fresh milk, there is not enough information to determine if such gestures are consistent or to assess the overall thoughtfulness of the host.

Aberporth is a small town that sits on the southern edge of Cardigan Bay in Ceredigion, renowned for it's fabulous beaches that attract visitors, all year round. There are two beaches that sit between the rocky headlands of Trecregyn and Fathgarreg, separated by a smaller rocky outcrop. Uniquely, at low tide they interlink, but at high tide, they create individual beaches and create great rock pools for the children to play in and explore. Small boats, canoes, and kayaks can easily be launched from the north beach, while the south beach lends itself beautifully for a spot of sunbathing. Close to the beaches, there is a small seaside café, fish and chip shop, and a friendly pub serving good food and drinks. In the village itself, there is a range of shops and takeaway stores. Nestled directly on the famous Wales Coast Path, between the towns of Cardigan in the south, and Llangrannog and New Quay to the north, it is a great base for exploring this glorious stretch of coastline. Venture to Cardigan and discover the town’s many shops, tea rooms, restaurants, pubs, and bustling markets. Visit the nearby themed farm park, spot dolphins from the coastal path, or take a boat trip for the chance to see them up close! Aberporth is a great base for exploring this wonderful part of West Wales, with something to do for all the family.

Location not the best as its a fairly busy road with no pavement to walk into Aberporth and fairly steep coming back . We could have done with more info on working the Tv and what packages extra channels were available as we were unsure . Floor and some surfaces could do with more cleaning but as it was the end of the season that probably accounts for it . Towels , bedding all lovely quality and well decorated and finishing touches were lovely .Lovely welshcakes and fresh milk were appreciated .

The kitchen was dirty with unwashed coffee cups, an old dirty kettle and dirty oven. Unfortunately, the property wasn’t overly clean anywhere else and when we pulled out the highchair to use it too needed a good clean. The lack of any welcome pack made using the appliances difficult and we couldn’t access the wifi, although it barely ran the tv so probably wouldn’t have managed our phones as well. The bathroom door didn’t close which didn’t matter to us but should probably be fixed. The saving grace was the location, just 5 minutes outside of Aberporth, which had a gorgeous beach, great fish and chips, and a lovely pub! We won’t be booking this cottage again sadly and actually ended up leaving after 2 nights.
