About this property

Drefach Felindre 2 miles. A pretty traditional cottage, converted from a former dairy, situated on the edge of the owner’s woodland, between the popular market towns of Llandysul and Newcastle Emlyn in South Wales. This cosy cottage is a perfect base for couples or small families looking to enjoy the peaceful scenery, yet being a short drive from the stunning coastline of Cardigan Bay. All on the ground floor, there is one cosy bedroom and a family bathroom. There is a traditional cottage-style kitchen with a dining area leading into the spacious sitting room which has an impressive woodburner, comfy seating and additional sleeping for two. Outside, you can sit in the pretty front garden with a cup of coffee, or relax in the sun in the back garden, enclosed by a 3ft high picket fence and gate and surrounded by the rustling trees. You are welcome to enjoy the owners’ woodland path or enjoy the comedic actions of the little resident cockerel. Newcastle Emlyn is a thriving market town sat on the River Teifi, perfect for fishing trips or to pick up some fabulous local foods or enjoy a coffee in one of the cafés. Alternatively, the quaint town of Llandysul, also on the Teifi, offers a café and small shops or the chance to enjoy the river at the local canoe paddling club. Both areas have a selection of boutique shops, antique shops and various great places to eat. You are ideally placed to enjoy the sweeping coastline of Cardigan Bay peppered with pretty beaches, including the National Trust Penbryn Beach, intimate coves and popular harbour towns. The surrounding area offers a myriad of outdoor activities such as boat trips to spot local marine wildlife and birds, including the local bay’s dolphins. You are a short drive from beautiful walks across the Preseli Hills, and just 16 miles from the Pembrokeshire National Park. Slightly further afield are the beach resort of New Quay, famous for dolphin sightings, and the harbour town of Aberaeron with its multi-coloured houses lining the tranquil harbour. A delightfully peaceful retreat, with a lovely mix of tradition and comfort, close to fantastic local countryside.

Llandysul is a vibrant village with a selection of shops, tea rooms and pubs, and even its own canoeing club. Visit nearby New Quay or one of the numerous beaches on the Cardiganshire, Carmarthenshire or Pembrokeshire coastline. Boat trips to spot dolphins, whitewater rafting or a trip on a steam railway may appeal, or how about a day out to explore all the historic castles, mills and formal gardens? A wonderful base for touring this delightful area of Wales.

I have just returned from two weeks here and we have loved every moment of the cottage. The photos don’t do it justice so much love and thought has gone into this little place. It was perfect for a family of 4 and we didn’t need the second bedroom as the longe is huge and comfortable. Everything said about it is true and more. Diane and Sean have done an amazing job to make the place truly relaxing. Thank you so much. Nikki, John , Rowan and Orla

The owners have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Plus many thoughtful 'extras'. Easy to explore the glorious coast at Mwnt, Newquay(dolphins put on a show for us during our boat trip!), Cardigan etc.from the cottage. Cenarth Falls is a beautifully peaceful place, a boardwalk around the falls has been installed making for an easy walk around. The lovely sun trap garden at the cottage was a highlight. The wildlife friendly areas in the garden are great too. We hope to return soon. Big thank you to the owners.
