A cosy cottage with mature enclosed garden, ideal for a couple but spacious enough for 5 nestled in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains in the Ystwyth valley near Pont-Rhyd-Y-Groes; on the doorstep of the historic Hafod Estate with its restored gardens, waterfalls and numerous forest walks. There are local nature reserves, hill-forts and only a 10 min. drive to the historic Strata Florida Abbey. It is 30 minutes'' drive from the Elan Valley, and the same inland from the beautiful Cardigan Bay coastline. The beautiful waterfalls of Devil's Bridge are three miles to the north and the village itself has a bridge over a deep gorge through which the river Ystwyth tumbles.

Ramblers will enjoy the myriad of paths in the area (which take in waterfalls and caves) bird watchers can spot red kites (amongst many other species), and if you are lucky, you may spot a pine marten or two as a result of a re-wilding programme. Cycle route 81 is reputed to be one of the best in Wales and passes through the village. Fishing permits are available in the local pub with Teifi Pools being nearby. There is horse-riding, dolphin watching and boat trips from Aberystwyth. There is an excellent restaurant at the Hafod Hotel in Devils Bridge just 3 miles away but if you prefer a short walk then hearty traditional meals are also served in the village pub, and the Cwtch Cafe nearby.

This traditional and quirky cottage with high spec. fixtures and furniture is very comfortable and makes a great base for a wonderful holiday. Sit by the log burner and watch the red kites circling over the valley below. There is no traffic noise at Ty Cariad.
