Guests say

Highgate is a well-received holiday cottage in Llandudno, praised for its comfort, unique design, and excellent location. Guests have enjoyed the hot tub, spaciousness, and the property's character. While some cleanliness issues were raised, they were not universal. The property's thoughtful touches, such as a welcome hamper, were appreciated, although not consistently mentioned.

Cleanliness reviews are mixed, with several guests finding the property spotless and well-maintained, while others reported cleanliness issues, particularly in the kitchen. The property seems to have responded to feedback with improvements.

The location is highly praised for being close to local attractions and amenities, offering nice walks and being a good base for exploring North Wales. It is considered convenient and ideal for families and individuals.

The majority of guests found the property comfortable, with comfy beds and spacious living areas. Some concerns were raised about the number of showers and the comfort of the sofa bed, but overall the property is seen as homely and well-equipped.

Facilities like the hot tub and play area are highlights, but some guests noted issues with maintenance such as a broken lock on the balcony door and a challenging TV setup. The property seems to be undergoing improvements, which suggests responsiveness to feedback.

Thoughtful gestures like a welcome hamper and local food gifts were mentioned positively, although they are not consistently provided to all guests. It's important to note that such kindnesses, while appreciated, are not guaranteed with every stay.

About this property

A delightful, semi-detached cottage in a quiet residential area, on the edge of the popular seaside resort of Llandudno, with views over the town towards the Great Orme and the Irish Sea. With tasteful furnishings and decor throughout, and laid out over 4 floors, this cottage has been well-equipped to offer all you will need for your holiday. Providing cosy and comfortable accommodation, your cottage boasts two staircases leading down to a spacious, fully fitted, lower ground floor kitchen. An archway leads through to the dining area, which has French doors that open out onto the garden. The ground floor offers a light and airy sitting room with open fire, and a reading room with study area, a sofa bed, a piano for the musically inclined and exercise bike for the more energetic! Doors lead out onto a balcony where you can enjoy the distant sea views and relax with a refreshing drink whilst soaking up the sun. The first floor offers three good sized bedrooms, and on the second floor there is a twin room with a fully equipped beverage point, with a fridge, microwave and sink. Outside are a climbing frame and swing and an enclosed side patio with small lawn, garden lights and furniture, offering a safe play haven for children, whilst the adults relax in the hot tub. With beaches less than 10 minutes' walk away, Venue Cymru and the centre of town within a mile and a half, this is a superb Llandudno cottage retreat at any time of the year.

Set between the Great Orme and the Little Orme, the village of Llandudno is a popular destination due to the town's two waterfronts. With both The North Shore and The West Shore, there are two beaches for visitors to choose from, the former offering a wide promenade backed by an imposing crescent of Victorian hotels and the latter offering contrast with its miles of sandy shoreline backed by dunes and superb views of nearby Anglesey. For great photo opportunities from the 600 feet high Great Orme summit, visitors can enjoy a relaxing trip up via the Tramway or cable car. There are a number of excellent shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes in the town whilst just four miles away is the World Heritage Site of Conwy. Dominated by its castle this lovely town is completely enclosed by its well-preserved walls.

There were 3 generations staying the week and although it is definitely a house of stairs we found it to be comfortable and very homely. The house had everything you could need being away from home with the added bonus of a hot tub, which we benefited from. The town of Llandudno is beautiful amd the people are very friendly and welcoming. We used the house as a base to explore much of North wales and had a fantastic time. We will be back!!
