Meadow Lodge in Corwen, North Wales & Snowdonia, offers a tranquil retreat with stunning views and a hot tub. Guests praise the location for its peacefulness and natural beauty, ideal for a relaxing break. The lodge provides a comfortable stay with friendly owners, though some guests suggest improvements in cleanliness and maintenance.
Cleanliness received mixed feedback. While some guests found the lodge clean and tidy, others reported issues such as dirt under furniture, stained bedding, and a lack of cleaning supplies. The presence of flies and unclean kitchenware in some reviews suggests room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for its breathtaking views, tranquillity, and proximity to nature. It serves as a great base for exploring North Wales. However, some guests noted the remote access can be challenging, and the nearest amenities are a fair distance away.
Guests generally find the lodge comfortable, with a cosy atmosphere and a comfiest bed. The presence of a hot tub adds to the comfort level, although there are comments about the sofa bed's comfort and the firmness of pillows.
Facilities are well-received, with the hot tub being a highlight. However, some guests experienced issues with heating the hot tub and suggested the lodge could benefit from more kitchenware and better maintenance of facilities like the BBQ.
There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as there are no consistent mentions of gifts or special touches provided by the hosts. While some guests appreciated the helpfulness of the owners, there is no clear evidence of extra thoughtful gestures.

However upon our checkout, we got confronted by one of the owners, who instead of even offering any form of apology for the poor conditions that we had reported, he instead ambushed us and was very confrontational about the fact that we had decided to raise some concerns for the cleanliness of the property. It left a very sour taste in our mouths as we were leaving and frankly it was the main reason why we are leaving a negative review. Aside from this, upon entering the property on the first day, we were greeted with an infestation of flies (including one in the kettle), and we had to spend hours trying to get rid of them. The pans were dirty and we werenât provided with sufficient cleaning products (i.e cleaning spray etc) to clean dishes adequately and to even maintain hygiene and cleanliness in general. Furthermore, the host(s) were generally unresponsive to calls whenever we needed assistance, for example we ordered and paid for some extra wood from them and upon payment we received no response from them about receipt of the wood until the last minute.

Just what we needed. Lodge set up was great, however cleanliness not so much. On our arrival we found a cigarette butt on the bathroom floor. Hand wash dispenser above the bathroom sink was empty. Cutlery and crockery were dirty and no washing up liquid was provided. Also pillows were very firm and not comfortable at all, but I guess thatâs a personal preference. Overall lovely place, but cleanliness must improve.
