Maes Elwy offers a spacious and well-equipped setting for family gatherings and celebrations, with a large conservatory, bar area, and beautiful grounds. The property's location and ample space are frequently praised, providing a comfortable and enjoyable experience for large groups. While some guests encountered issues, the owner's responsiveness and the property's potential are noted positively.
Cleanliness scores are mixed, with several guests reporting unclean conditions upon arrival, including issues with cutlery and linens. However, some guests found the property to be spotlessly clean. The variance in experiences suggests inconsistency in cleaning standards.
The location is consistently praised for its beauty and convenience, with guests appreciating the proximity to local attractions and the stunning views. The property's setting in North Wales & Snowdonia seems to be a highlight for many visitors.
Comfort levels are generally high, with guests enjoying the spaciousness and the variety of rooms. However, some guests reported issues with heating and hot water, as well as some rooms being cold, which affects the overall comfort score.
Facilities such as the bar area, conservatory, and gardens are well-received, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues, including problems with hot water and heating. Some guests also noted a lack of kitchen equipment for large groups.
There is insufficient information in the reviews to assess the level of thoughtfulness in terms of gifts or special touches provided by the host. Therefore, this score cannot be determined and is set to null.
Nestled within its own private grounds, surrounded by stunning North Wales countryside, this wonderfully appointed house offers a beautiful holiday home to be shared with your loved ones, on the fringes of St. Asaph. This stunning property is accessed via a long track, opposite the Tweedmill Shopping Outlet and Llannerch Golf Course, and is well-suited to families and large groups of friends looking to celebrate a special occasion, or simply make the most of this enviable location. Hosting 14 well-presented bedrooms over the first and second floors, many of which boasting handy en-suite facilities, you can truly make the most of each and every corner. One of the first floor bedrooms occupies an en-suite wet room for those with limited mobility. The ground floor is dominated by a large sitting room, which is the ideal space to gather in the evenings and relax, with a lovely feature fireplace, a huge, wall-mounted TV and a window seat that stretches across the deep bay window. The most striking feature about the living room, other than its size, is the grand chandelier hanging from the ceiling, which is said to be from Terminal 1 at Manchester Airport. Equally as grand and sociable is the large conservatory/dining room, a lovely space to enjoy a delicious feast and take in the outdoor scenery all-year-round. Later, you can pour yourself a drink at the bar and move outside onto the decking to admire your surroundings, or find yourself a quiet spot in the snug or library and curl up with a good book. Special occasions can be celebrated in the bar and conservatory area. The gardens are massive and surround the house with a decked patio to the rear, gas heaters and wheelchair access for those less able on their feet. You can have picnics on the lawn while the kids let off some steam, and later you can spend an afternoon at the Tweedmill shopping outlet or enjoy a round of golf. There are many more attractions and useful amenities close by; St Asaph has a selection of traditional pubs and gift shops to discover, while the picturesque North Wales coast has golden beaches, beautiful walks and the Welsh Mountain Zoo at Colwyn Bay. You cannot miss an opportunity to explore the Snowdonia National Park during your stay, with the highest mountain in England and Wales and the largest natural lake in Wales. Choose this stunning retreat for an experience you'll never forget.
St Asaph lies in the Vale of Clwyd, six miles between Denbigh and the coastal town of Rhyl, in North Wales. It overlooks the rivers Clwyd and Elwy, and is also home to a historic cathedral. In September, the city comes alive with the arrival of the North Wales International Music festival, which takes place across numerous locations. You also have traditional pubs within this small city, numerous craft and gift shops, a 9-hole golf course, horse riding, angling, and crown green bowling, as well as a leisure centre and the Tweedmill Retail Outlet.

Disappointed with the lack of communication when asking questions. Several areas smelt of damp but these were enclosed areas and considering itâs not lived in 24/7 would be expected. Also could do with getting cobwebs off the ceilings.

4 night stay. Nice location. Good size conservatory. Bar area a nice feature. Lounge a good size. Iâve since read other reviews and agree with the comments around hot water in some of the upstairs bathrooms. We managed so wasnât an issue, could have been user error but couldnât get it working. Cleanliness in places was average. If itâs not checked the day before people are arriving and hasnât been booked for a few weeks dead flies and cobwebs will build up. One side of the cooker wasnât working, this got fixed once the owner realised which property we were in. Some things just need a bit of TLC that have been affected due to wear and tear. Weâd probably return as a group as it suited what we needed, but Iâd need to caveat a few things if recommending to others.

The house was perfect and catered for our needs. Everyone said how much they enjoyed the weekend. Thank you for a great weekend in your lovely property.
