For hiking enthusiasts, your exploration would be incomplete without climbing the historical hill fort of Moel y Gaer, treating you to breath-taking vistas of the Clwydian Range. If you're heading further out, pay a visit to the stunning Chester Cathedral, Chester Roman Amphitheatre, and The Grosvenor Museum in the nearby city of Chester. As the sun sets, return to the tranquillity of Rising Sun Cottage and enjoy some local pub grub in one the many neighboring villages. Loggerheads Country Park with its Visitor Centre offers the opportunity for glimpsing local wildlife, whilst walking along The Leete pathway on the banks of the River Alyn. The nearby small town of Holywell - the Lourdes of Wales - takes its name from a well surrounded by a chapel, which has been a site of pilgrimage since 660. Tom was soon settled in this cosy let, enjoying the multichannel TV and the (wood-fired) hot tub. It was ideally situated for lots of local sights and activities and a lovely place every day to come home to. Lots of positive detail, welcoming 'treats' and everything you might need and more! Owners were close but completely unobtrusive (save when I needed them and then Mike was happy to help). Highly recommended!
