Guests say

Ffynnon Gower is a well-loved cottage praised for its stunning views over Lake Bala and its tranquil, private location. Guests consistently mention the property's cleanliness, comfort, and the warm welcome they receive. The surrounding wildlife and the convenience of local attractions add to the charm of this idyllic retreat. While most experiences are positive, there is a single mention of security concerns and cleanliness issues, which seem to be an outlier.

The majority of reviews highlight the cottage's cleanliness, with guests finding it very clean and well-maintained. One review mentioned having to clean kitchenware upon arrival, but this appears to be an isolated incident not reflected in other feedback.

The location is highly praised for its outstanding views and proximity to Lake Bala and Snowdonia. Guests appreciate the privacy and the natural beauty, with many positive comments about the scenery and wildlife. The location contributes significantly to the overall experience.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with a cosy atmosphere and a well-equipped kitchen. The presence of log burners and a comfy bed are frequently mentioned. There is a minor note about firm mattresses, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the kitchen being well-appointed and the addition of a drying room being appreciated. However, there are comments about the need for maintenance, such as the picnic table and a bedroom window, which suggest room for improvement.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident, with mentions of a warm welcome and unexpected treats like Prosecco and homemade mince pies. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, it is noted that such personal touches, though delightful, are not guaranteed for every stay.

So well equipped with gorgeous views across Lake Bala. Norah and Dylan were fantastic. Both really helpful and told us everything we needed to know, communication was fantastic. I honestly couldn’t find anything to fault with this property and wouldn’t hesitate to go back!

It feels so welcoming and friendly. The views are outstanding. I stayed with friends and we all fell I love with Ffynnon Gower. It was a long weekend and we agreed we wanted to stay much longer! The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need and Nora had even left some treats for us (and milk!) for that all important first cup of tea when you arrive. Dylan keeps the gardens immaculate and the trees and flowers are a delight. The back garden is a great size and if you jave children would be fab for them to run around. We did find the mattresses a bit firm, but that's just personal preference. As a group of friends it was great to have an extra downstairs loo. I needed a venue to run a handfasting 'commitment' ceremony for friends from the US who fell in love at Bala. We asked the owners, who were so kind and obliging, so our friends had the stunning backdrop of Bala Lake - it was magical! Book Ffynnon Gower - you won't be disappointed! Can't wait to stay again. The doors locked firmly so we felt secure as women friends staying there. The road from Bala does go single track in places but plenty of passing places - just drive sensibly - it isn't bad at all and only a short driveway from the road to the cottage. P.s. King Arthur's Labyrinth in Machynlleth is about 40 mins away and an incredible tourist attraction with lots of craft shops.
