When you're ready to explore the town, there are beaches, shops, and restaurants to keep you busy, as well as supermarkets to stock up on necessities. After you've seen the sites and dined at Porthmadog's restaurants, there are a number of charming places close to visit, including Harlech, Criccieth and Barmouth. Harlech, with its spectacular beachfront castle and golden dunes, is a fantastic day out for a couple or family. Barmouth, a little farther down the coast, is another welcoming town with stand-up paddle boarding and a variety of eateries to pick from. The bustling harbour town of Porthmadog lies on the Glaslyn Estuary and enjoys a stunning setting.
