Nestled in the heart of Aberdaron village is this well-presented family friendly and pet friendly detached cottage, Gladstone. Set in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with stunning beaches and coastline, at the tip of the Llyn Peninsula, Gladstone is a fabulous escape for families or groups of friends looking to experience the delights of the region. This large holiday home has been converted from what was originally the local smithy and retains many original features including two inglenook fireplaces with woodburning stoves. The heart of the cottage is the spacious kitchen, with a farmhouse style dining table and a range of appliances, making it an excellent spot for home-cooking. Just off the kitchen is the utility room, complete with washing machine, tumble dryer and sink, handy for when your trails take off on a muddier route. Spend your down time in the lounge, furnished with two sofas, easy chairs, a Smart TV and an inglenook fireplace with woodburning stove. Continue to the outside, where you can discover the fully enclosed grassed grounds with small patio, garden bench and picnic table, perfect for a drink on a balmy evening. When you start to tire, climb to the first floor and discover the bedrooms, including a family room with king-size and single bed, a double bedroom and two twin rooms, rooms, each carpeted and simply furnished. The large fourth attic bedroom is accessible by another set of stairs and has three singles, a TV and DVD player and limited headspace. There is a children's play area adjacent to Gladstone, ideal for those with young families. The local village of Aberdaron boasts two award-winning bars both serving meals and light refreshments, cafés and a fish and chip shop selling locally caught seafood, so there’s plenty of options. Those avid walkers join the South West Coastal Path, just a moments' walk from doorstep, offering stunning walks in both directions. Traeth Aberdaron beach is a wonderful choice for an afternoon of sunbathing, while a little further afield is the gorgeous Porth Ysgo beach, as well as the lovely Porth Simdde reserve and the shoreside 12th century church. Brush up on the local history by visiting the Secret Nuclear Bunker, the Roman Fort close to Abersoch or you can hop on a boat trip to Bardsey Island. There’s plenty to explore whilst holiday at Gladstone! . Boat trips are also available to Bardsey Island. Golf Links course available at Morfa Nevyn. Local bus service to Pwthelli and Bangor (Bangor rail line serves London). The property is ideally situated for the Welsh Coastal Pathway - walking/hiking/cycling/surfing/golfing guests etc all welcome.
The quiet beach community of Aberdaron is built around two streams and has a view of the ocean. The buildings that give Aberdaron its distinctive look—the lime-washed fishermen's cottages, the cafes, the stores, the hotels, and the church of St. Hywyn—struggle up the slopes. A beach for strolling and playing on, as well as a promenade where you can observe sailing vessels and regattas in the bay, are located on either side of the river's mouth. There is also a National Trust visitor centre and car park. Pwllheli and Abersoch, two well-known resort towns, are easily accessible. Explore magnificent castles and coves, or take advantage of the close-by fishing, golfing, and watersports activities.
