About this property

Chwilog 1.5 miles. The Shepherds Hut is a unique, detached shepherd's hut with an outbuilding, tucked away on the outskirts of Chwilog, Gwynedd. Sitting next to the Grade I Cadw Heritage Penarth Fawr Medieval House, the hut provides a romantic setting for two or a solo guest, complete with a wood-fired hot tub, bike storage, ground-floor living, and easy access to the coast and Snowdonia National Park. You'll find private off-road parking when you arrive, before following a winding, gravelled path to your very own rustic retreat surrounded by vegetation. The shepherd's hut has a studio-style layout with a 4' double bed, dining area, and a woodburning stove to relax after the day's adventures, along with an en-suite cloakroom. Just opposite the hut, the outbuilding has an open-plan living space, furnished with a kitchenette with basic appliances to prepare easy meals, a dining area, and sitting area with a Smart TV and dart board for your entertainment. This lovely little sanctuary comes with plenty of outdoor space with no light pollution; dine al fresco on summer nights, stargaze from the hot tub, and store your bikes with an outdoor tap after exploring this beautiful region. One of Wales' best preserved Medieval Hall Houses sits on your doorstep to enjoy at your leisure, which dates to 1460, whilst there are plenty of walks, cycling, and fishing opportunities within easy reach. The Llŷn Peninsula is scattered with idyllic beaches, such as Porth Neigwl and Abersoch's beaches for surfing, watersports, and simply relaxing, whilst the market town of Pwllheli and the historic Criccieth are a short drive away. A little further afield, you'll find plenty of outdoor adventures in Snowdonia National Park, including Zip World Llechwedd, hikes to the top of Snowdon Peak, and Beddgelert Forest. Porthmadog and the Italianate Portmeirion are both close by where you can join the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways for an unforgettable journey through forests and countryside. Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway or a solo escape, you'll find everything you need at The Shepherds Hut.

Chwilog is a village on the Llyn Peninsula, near Snowdonia National Park in North Wales, known for its scenery and walking. The Afon Wen river runs through the village and one mile to the sea. Criccieth is a charming seaside town with a 13th-century castle on a rocky outcrop overlooking Tremadog Bay and Snowdonia. Watersports fans will enjoy the town's two beaches, and walkers and bikers will love Snowdonia National Park. Stroll the beaches, watch porpoises in the surf, or relax in the pubs, restaurants, and tea rooms with Cadwalader's ice cream. Abersoch is a harbour town between two bays. It's a popular sailing venue in North Wales, and regattas are held there in the summer. There are tourist shops, pubs, restaurants, and cafes. Windsurfing, water skiing, dinghy sailing, and surfing at Hell's Mouth are also popular. Portmeirion's Italianate gardens, the shops and restaurants, and the Ffestiniog railway in Porthmadog, Harlech Castle, Pwllheli, host to European and world sailing events, Caernarfon Castle, and the Llyn Peninsula's beaches and golf courses are all within an easy drive.
