This beautiful shepherd’s hut on the eastern edge of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park is ideal for couples looking for a relaxing holiday amid tranquil countryside. The property is set within a cluster of well-secluded, similar properties A wealth of walking trails leads from your front door and will take you across the rugged farmland to the foot of Skirrid. Climb Skirrid, and from the summit, you can see stunning 360-degree views towards Sugar Loaf and Hatterrall Ridge. For cyclists, there are many peaceful lanes and off-road downhill trails to explore.
This gorgeous accommodation is larger than the average shepherd’s hut and is beautifully finished. Inside, you can see how the open-plan space has been well thought out. There is a kitchenette with everything you need to rustle up a romantic dinner to share in the dining area. After dinner, relax and snuggle up in the comfortable armchairs for two and listen as the wood burner crackles in the background on chilly evenings. There is a built-in double bed with a conveniently placed Smart TV to enjoy a film before sleep. A shower room and underfloor heating ensure a comfortable stay. Outside, you can enjoy the enclosed, landscaped garden, with a private hot tub and a sauna - perfect for relaxing after a day of activity. A seating area, hammock, fire pit, and BBQ complete the outside features of this marvellous rural retreat.
History buffs can explore many castles in the area, including those in the market towns of Abergavenny (3 miles) and Crickhowell (8.5 miles) or head to National Trust Skenfrith Castle (9.5 miles). The World Heritage Site of Blaenavon is 10.5 miles away and home to The Big Pit National Museum and a heritage railway. Talybony-on-Usk (20 miles) is a great spot to experience the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), offering cycling, mountain biking, walking, hiking, and bird watching.
