Guests say

Top Lodge is a well-received cottage with stunning views and a peaceful rural setting. Guests appreciate the friendly hosts, the presence of farm animals, and the secure area for pets. The welcome gifts and clean, comfortable accommodation add to the positive experience, although minor maintenance issues are noted.

The property is generally described as clean, with guests appreciating the immaculate outdoor areas and comfortable living spaces. However, one review mentioned the need for a little TLC, suggesting room for improvement.

The location is praised for its amazing views and proximity to local attractions, with a secure environment for pets. The rural setting is ideal for a peaceful retreat, although the lack of nearby shops and the dark walk to the local pub are noted.

Guests find the beds comfy and the living areas relaxing, with the hot tub being a highlight. Some minor suggestions for additional furniture were made, but overall, the comfort level is high.

The facilities are generally good, with special mentions of the hot tub and secure outdoor area. However, guests have noted some maintenance issues such as lighting and kitchen equipment, indicating that some facilities could be improved.

The hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, providing welcome gifts such as fresh bread, eggs, and Welsh cakes. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is politely noted that such gifts are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

A perfect base to explore Monmouthshire and beyond. Extremely comfortable living area, with handy downstairs loo, and comfy beds with soft mattress toppers. Well equipped kitchen, and we especially appreciated the welcome basket containing their own hen's eggs, Welshcakes, milk, tea and coffee. The highlights were watching the sun go down from the wonderful hot-tub after a day exploring, the frequent visits from the friendly hens and the sheep in the field next-door, watching the owners' horses pass our lodge and being able to have our own dog stay with us in a safe environment. The owners were so friendly, recommended local pubs, helped us fix a minor problem with the hot-tub and chatted about their very much loved animals, whilst respecting our privacy. We arrived in foggy conditions and got confused with the directions (the Glen View sign was difficult to see in the fog around the bend, need a NEON one please ;D ) and I would recommend a mirror in the bedroom for drying hair. Other than that it was perfect and we loved every minute of our week's stay. Thank you so much <3

The Top cottage was everything, we needed. Very clean and welcome pack was very much appreciated. The weather was beautiful all week and the views were amazing. The hosts were very nice and it was a pleasure talking to them. Thank you so much, will definitely come back.

Property was clean and comfortable and Hot Tub was in great condition and we LOVED the huge fluffy towels. But the best aspect of the property in our opinion is the animals. We were greeted by the horses as we drove up, and the chickens soon welcomed us too. The sheep were also close by and like to be pet. There was always an animal in sight which we loved. There's plenty to do within driving distance, and we especially enjoyed our visits to a local dog freindly pub which was less than 10 min drive away, Ego at The Groes Wen Inn. They have some great value deals available, especially on a Wednesday.
