Henllys is a spacious and beautifully located cottage in South Wales, offering stunning views and ample room for large groups. Guests appreciate the ample space, the large dining area, and the cosy log burner. The wild garden and proximity to beaches are a hit with families, while the underfloor heating and tasteful decoration add to the comfort. Some minor maintenance issues and additional amenities are suggested to enhance the experience.
The property generally appears to be clean, though some guests noted areas that could be improved, such as a dirty oven and some hair on the beds. The majority of reviews, however, do not raise cleanliness as a major issue.
The location is highly praised for its stunning views and peaceful countryside setting. It is considered a perfect place to escape and is appreciated for its proximity to local attractions and beaches.
Guests find the house comfortable, with plenty of space, good bathrooms, and comfortable seating. The presence of a log burner and underfloor heating are noted positively. Some concerns about steps at night are mentioned.
The facilities are generally well-received, especially the kitchen and bathrooms. However, guests suggest improvements such as additional kitchenware and clearer instructions. Some maintenance issues like broken lights and rustic furniture are noted.
While some guests mention the lack of a welcome pack and suggest that small gifts would be appreciated, there is not enough consistent information across reviews to accurately score thoughtfulness. It is important to note that while such gestures are valued, they are not guaranteed.

As a group of over 60s on a walking holiday, we had a very enjoyable week overall. The house has plenty of space, the beds are comfortable and the showers/baths/loos all work well. It was obvious that the house had been cleaned but the oven was very dirty and the single beds covered hair and other detritus. We needed to clean some of the ancient cutlery before using it. The owner replaced a damaged kettle for us. Outside, there was an obvious lack of care - recycling and rubbish had not been collected - parts of the garden were overgrown or untidy - surrounding farm buildings are in disrepair. Two items of rustic furniture collapsed beneath us. This is a large, spacious property in peaceful countryside with glorious views. It has huge potential for development and could be lovely. It isn't there yet but it can still be an effective base for a group or large family holiday.

The kitchen was great, and actually made cooking for lots of people a real pleasure. The weather unfortunately was terrible, but the house made up for that, providing plenty of cosy spaces to relax in and enjoy.

Plenty of room, inside and out. Enough and comfortable seating for everyone. Space for the grandchildren to run around outside. Good location. Very good bathrooms! Enough bedrooms (often lacking). Quiet. Peaceful. Underfloor air-pump heating very impressive. Mixed feelings about the cutlery. Kitchen lacks a potato smasher for mashed potato. (I donât care for mashed potato myself, but some of my grandchildren like it.) Would have liked a mop to clean down the dogâs paw prints inside the backdoor/boot room/utility room, but you may care too much for you skirting boards (understandable). We heard the owls, missed the bats and saw no dormice. Overall, very highly recommended. Thank you!
