Guests say

Ty Rhosyn is a well-regarded cottage praised for its comfort, well-equipped kitchen, and pleasant garden. It is situated in a location convenient for exploring the Pembrokeshire coastline. Guests have enjoyed the nearby cove and the property's suitability for families and pets, despite some minor issues with maintenance and amenities.

The cottage is generally appreciated for its cleanliness, though there is a mention of an oven needing cleaning. This suggests high standards with room for minor improvements.

The location is good for coastal access, with some beautiful nearby beaches. However, some guests noted the lack of local amenities and secure areas for dog walking, which could be inconvenient for some visitors.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with a special mention of comfy beds and a cosy wood burner. However, there are comments about a chilly lounge and a downstairs bedroom being cold, indicating some areas could be cosier.

The property is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and offers a range of books and games. However, points were deducted for maintenance issues like a difficult-to-adjust shower, a non-working tumble dryer, and a smoky log burner.

There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide a score for thoughtfulness. Guests have not commented on any extra efforts made to enhance their stay in this regard.

It is very well equipped. My only criticism, and it is a small one as the owners might not previously have been made aware of the issue, was that the tumble drier did not work. I reported this but there was no indication of any immediate intention to repair it. This is perhaps the fault of the previous users to not have reported the issue.

Beds were comfortable and it was great having two bathrooms. There is a very pleasant feeling of space in the cottage, which is light and airy and has a small but pleasing garden and patio area. An extra bonus was the nearby cove at Penycwm: this is a short walk across the road and down a quiet lane, where you meet the coast path with extensive views and then on to the cove itself. This is a sandy, pebbly beach with some caves and tremendous waves on a windy day, and we were often the only ones there. It made a nice sunset walk, too. The cottage is also very well placed for exploring St David's and lots of bays and coastal walks are just a short drive away. We enjoyed a boat trip to Skomer Island where we saw puffins and other sea birds and our favourite walk was from Whitesands along to St David's Head, where there are wild ponies, lots of boulders to scramble on and a good bay with caves and rock pools en route. We would love to return for another stay.

It’s a lovely area for beaches all within a couple of miles but it’s also a great sun trap in the back garden. Solva Fishguard & Porthgain are our most popular spots to go to. So if booked you won’t be disappointed as I know we weren’t… 10/10 all the way …
