Guests say

Gellifor is a well-loved cottage praised for its comfort, stunning views, and well-equipped facilities. Guests appreciate the peaceful location and the property's suitability for dogs. The garden is a highlight, though some guests suggest it could be better maintained for pet security. The property's cleanliness generally meets expectations, with a few noting areas for improvement. The thoughtful touches, such as a welcome pack, add to the pleasant experience, although it's noted these are not guaranteed.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found Gellifor clean and comfortable, with some exceptions noting issues such as cobwebs and a blocked vacuum cleaner. The property seems well-kept, though a few guests suggested more attention to detail would enhance the overall cleanliness.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its superb views and peaceful setting. It is well-placed for local amenities and exploring the surrounding area. However, some guests noted the steep, narrow access road and proximity to neighbours as minor drawbacks.

Guests consistently mention the comfort of the beds and the homely feel of the property. The spaciousness and the provision of a king-size bed are appreciated. Some guests suggest minor improvements to enhance cosiness, such as additional rugs or throws.

The property is well-equipped with a range of amenities, including a washer and dryer. Guests appreciate the comprehensive information provided and the quality of bedding and towels. Some feedback indicates room for improvement in maintenance and clearer instructions for recycling and appliance use.

While guests mention a welcome pack, there is insufficient information to determine the consistency or quality of these gifts, and they are not guaranteed. Therefore, a score cannot be accurately provided for thoughtfulness based on the available reviews.

About this property

This detached, architect-designed bungalow offers comfortable accommodation and lovely views over the garden to the river Teifi. St Dogmaels is a quaint village at the border of Pembrokeshire and Cardiganshire.

Close to the property are the ruins of St Dogmaels Abbey, one of Pembrokeshire's most beautiful historical attractions. Nowadays the coach house is a Heritage Centre and there is also a tea room where you can enjoy fresh, homemade produce. As well as the abbey, there is a working water mill and choice of riverside inns and restaurants, together with St Dogmaels award winning weekly local produce market.

Cardigan castle, Cardigan town and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path are all within walking distance.

The well-kept garden offers a paved seating area, perfect for al fresco meals and for admiring the views towards the river Teifi estuary. Poppit Sands is just a couple of miles away and there are plenty of other beaches in the area such as Patch, Mwnt, Aberporth, Newport Sands and Tresaith.

St Dogmaels is an ancient and tranquil village nestling peacefully around its ruined abbey at the mouth of the River Teifi on the totally unspoiled west Wales coast. One of its attractions is Y Felin, one of only two working watermills in Wales and retains the machinery installed in 1820. It is thought the mill was originally built by the monks of St Dogmaels' 12th century Abbey. The miller shows how the mill works and bread, flour and cakes can be purchased from the mill or you can enjoy tea and cakes and light lunches in the Coach House Café nearby. An award winning local produce market is held here every Tuesday and is well worth a visit. The village has a pub, a fish & chip shop, a Post Office, a cafe and a small museum at the abbey. There is also a pretty green and a millpond with ducks. Cardigan, a delightful ancient market town, is just over a mile away. This ancient town sits on the estuary of the River Teifi at the base of Cardigan Bay. Its unspoilt townscape and rich heritage provide a nostalgic backdrop to a thriving culture of arts and crafts, events and music festivals. Nearby is the wonderful Poppit Sands where you can relax on sunny days or enjoy invigorating walks in the cooler months, as well as exploring the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast Path. St Dogmaels is the start or finish of the 186 mile Pembrokeshire Coast Path from St Dogmaels to Amroth. Visit Castell Henllys, the Iron Age Fort where everyone is encouraged to learn the ancient way of living, or visit the wonderful Shire Horse Farm to see how farming was before tractors. The Cardigan Bay dolphins can be seen off the bay on a regular basis and more active pursuits can be found at Cardigan Bay Active, including surfing, wildlife trips or coasteering. With scenic coastal, riverside and countryside walks and an array of other beaches and attractions all close by, this is a perfect holiday location all year round.

We were looking out for a bungalow which matched the picture on the website. As this was taken from the end of the garden and not the road leading up to it, all I’m saying is that it would have helped.

The Super King bed was fabulous - we only ever book cottages with huge beds and they are hard to find so we were thrilled!! We'd adore to stay again one day and the dogs are begging for more walks at Poppit Sands!! Thank you so much for everything!! xxJill and Brett xx
