It’s also a great place to pick up local produce for your supper, thanks to the regular markets. Walks from Abergavenny include the towpath of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal and Sugar Loaf Mountain. History enthusiasts will enjoy a visit to the atmospheric ruins of LLanthony Priory, 21 miles away, or for those interested in water sports, a trip to Llangorse Lake (9.5 miles) is a must.
