Set within the quiet, rural hamlet of Cwm-Llinau, with a pleasant outlook over the Welsh hillside, is Ty Capel Soar. This beautifully converted chapel dates back to 1870 and now boasts upside down accommodation, situated just over a mile from the pretty village of Cemmaes. With delightful walks, fishing and birdwatching in the area, this cottage is ideal for couples and small families of three. Stroll through the front gate to a courtyard hosting an abundance of pretty shrubs and flowers. Under the porch and through the front door will take you inside to the reception room. This is simply perfect for those musically inclined, with two pianos carefully placed in the room. Sit and enjoy a tune or two before gliding up the magical staircase to the open-plan living room. Get cosy by the woodburning stove on a bleak wintry evening, and admire this lovely setup put together with antique furniture, lively colour schemes and beautiful china plates on the wall. The mezzanine landing and tall arched windows are simply a delight and the kitchen window displays views of the hillside. Back downstairs, the bedrooms await a peaceful night's rest with thoughtful attention to detail and en-suite facilities assisting you each morning. There is even a cloakroom on the first floor for visiting guests, and a utility just off the kitchen. Cemmaes is the next village along with a church and riverside perfect for summertime picnics. Just a short drive away is the market town of Machynlleth, with a good mix of specialist shops, pubs and cafes. This is the ideal location for walking, mountain biking, fishing and rock climbing among many other outdoors activities. A wonderful getaway in Mid Wales.
Cemmaes is set in the stunning valley of the River Dyfi, with a pretty village church and a scattering of houses with lanes leading down to the river. The town boasts two art galleries, and is home to the Museum of Modern Arts, which showcases the work of a variety of international artists, as well as staging concerts and lectures in its 400 seat auditorium.
