Border View Lodge is a lovely barn conversion perched atop the wonderful and historically rich county of Shropshire Secluded away on a working farm, this stunning, remodelled property can sleep four in two bedrooms, ideal for those looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Take in your captivating surroundings before heading into a property cocooned by panoramic plains of countryside. You can even walk up to Bulthy Hill behind the house where you’ll see as far as seven counties! Come back from your excursion to find an open-plan living space where you’ll be able to start setting up dinner in the fully-equipped, contemporary kitchen while the others either sit around the breakfast bar to help or sink into the sofas by the woodburning stove and watch TV. As the evening draws to a close, quickly slip on your bathing suits and soak in the warmth of the hot tub on the terraced and furnished patio as you watch the sun slip underneath the Shropshire plains. The next morning, after having rested in either of the king-sized rooms, freshen up in their respective en-suite shower rooms, and get ready for an adventurous day.

You won’t have to travel far for fun activities as the farm offers paintballing, archery, quad biking, rage buggies, and laser clay pigeon shooting on site. If you’d like to branch out some more, the beautiful and historic county town of Shrewsbury has a lot to offer such as the spectacular National Trust estate, Attingham Park, an 18th-century country mansion with a picture gallery. The Quarry is a lovely riverfront park with a sunken garden and there is also the option of The Dingle, a 29-acre botanical park with vibrant flower displays, and finally, Shrewsbury Prison which offers tours of its empty cells. For more kid-friendly activities, drive out to Telford and stop at Telford Town Park, a 450-acre park with countless things to see and do like the Exotic Zoo Wildlife Park, offering amazing experiences where you can feed the animals, Wonderland, an ‘Alice in Wonderland’-themed amusement park with fun rides and live actors, and when the sun is shining, Water Play, a water park by the spout pool. If you manage to make it through the whole day, reward yourself with a meal at one of the fantastic restaurants in the area.

The traditional market town of Oswestry makes for a great day of shopping, where you can browse quaint local stores before grabbing a bite to eat at one of the many independent eateries in the area. The Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers an abundance of off-beaten tracks to cycle and awe-inspiring nature trails to explore and lies just a stone’s throw away making there something for everyone to enjoy.

    Cottage and setting is absolutely beautiful, we felt privileged to stay there, the sunrises are amazing and the owners always happy to make suggestions and on hand if needed. Lots of local walking with pretty towns to visit. Onsite quad biking was enjoyed by all.

    The whole place was very clean, beds was all made up on our arrival and they are amazingly comfy you always worry about how great you will sleep well not here they was like a pillow very nice. The property had stunning views to wake up to and is close to some great walking location and nice pub restaurants... we will most definitely be back here.
