Penmachno is a rural village offering a local store for your essentials, and a pub, The Eagles Hotel. The village rests within the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, and is a fantastic location for incredible hikes, mountain biking, and birdwatching, with walks including those at Rhaeadr Y Graig Lwyd, Carnedd Llewelyn, and of course, Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the third highest mountain in the UK. Snowdonia is an incredible space to enjoy watersports, with adventure sports, white water rafting, wild swimming, and more readily available, and you can enjoy an action-packed afternoon at Zip World. Betws-y-Coed is a stunning honey pot village teaming with character. Here there are close by waterfall walks, tasty eateries, independent stores, and pubs for you to enjoy. For a day at the seaside, head over to Conwy, where there is an incredible castle and RSPB reserve with a café. Explore Conwy and Eryri with a stay at The Long House.

The small, peaceful village of Penmachno is situated in the beautiful Machno Valley, just 4 miles from the popular town of Betws-y-Coed. Surrounded by woodland, magnificent mountains and flowing rivers, the whole area is a haven for walkers, birdwatchers, mountain bikers and climbers, whilst Betws-y-Coed itself offers a good range of shops, pubs and cafes. Here the River Conwy meets its three tributaries, creating a host of cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges throughout the surrounding countryside, the most famous of which is the magnificent waterfall at Swallow Falls, situated where the River Llugwy meets with a spectacular chasm, creating a sight not to be missed! The beautiful Conwy Falls are also well worth a visit and are situated in the Machno Valley. The location was really peaceful- close to the A5 and quick access to all the famous peaks, but in a little visited valley off a quiet lane. We loved the building which oozes quirky, rural and cosy charm but with all the modern comforts you need. Some minor maintenance issues caused no upset for us but may do for those who want 'sterile perfection'. Hope we're able to be welcomed back in the future.

Kitchen especially (no heating in the area at all). Lovely sitting room with plenty of chairs. Would have been ideal to have a small enclosed area for dogs. Please look at plug in bath as have to use a plunger to get it to open. Games supplied is a nice touch and thank you for coffee bags, milk and biscuits on arrive - these little things are appreciated thank you
