About this property

Trem y Don is tucked away on the outskirts of the peaceful village of Dolgarrog, Conwy, in the heart of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. Built in 1922, this quaint, single-story annexe is the perfect romantic retreat for couples, while also being family-friendly and pet-friendly, should you want to bring along your little ones or your furry ones. On arrival, find off-road parking and take a minute to admire your elevated position in the rural space between Dolgarrog and Trefriw, overlooking the Conwy valley. The interior has a beautiful four-poster double bedroom and a bathroom with a bath and shower over it for when it is time to rest and refresh between fun-filled days. The kitchen is well-equipped with all the essentials, so you can enjoy a lovely home-cooked meal, along with a handy washing machine for your laundry needs. From here, the sitting room is the perfect place to curl up with a good book by the woodburning stove or challenge your partner to a game of table football for your evening entertainment, and there is also a doll house and other games for any children in your group. Step outside into the garden, where you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings from the hot tub, nestled under the pagoda and perfect to soak in any time of year. The decked area is the perfect spot for a leisurely breakfast, while furniture makes for a great place to relax in the afternoon sun with a drink of your choice! For a peaceful nook, head to the Meditation Area, set in the forest, where you can feel at one with nature whilst lounging on the private hammock. Finishing off the property is a shed that also provides storage for bikes and sports equipment if you’re looking to explore the picture-perfect national park. Explore Dolgarrog, an idyllic village surrounded by gentle rolling hills and lush green meadows, ideal for leisurely strolls. Betws-y-Coed is just a scenic drive away, a picturesque village featuring historical monuments, an array of outdoor activities, and plenty of places to shop. Immerse yourself in the beauty of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, a stunning landscape of rugged mountains, forested valleys, gushing rivers, and shimmering lakes. Let your adventurous spirit run free, with plenty of opportunities to take part in thrilling activities such as walking, cycling, rock climbing, or mountain biking. For the more daring, you can even brave the heights of Zip World, just a few miles north of the property, tackle the iconic Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), or simply jump on the Snowdon Mountain Railway. No matter how you choose to spend your time, a stay at Trem y Don is guaranteed to be one to remember.

The village of Dolgarrog is situated in the Conwy Valley, within the Snowdonia National Park. The village is surrounded by three rivers - the Afon Ddu, the Afon Porth-llwyd and the Conwy, and the woodlands of the Coed Dolgarrog National Nature Reserve. Adventure Parc Snowdonia is found here, which offers a whole host of adrenaline-fuelled activities both indoor and outdoor including a large man-made surf lagoon that provides a fantastic experience for beginner surfers and those with more experience. Close to Dolgarrog are lovely walks including gorge walking, which will appeal to the more adventurous, and the peaks of Drum and Tal y Fan. Both the ‘walking village’ of Trefriw and the market town of Llanrwst are nearby, plus the popular inland resort of Betws-y-Coed is just a few miles away and is well worth a visit. The North Wales coastline is within a short drive and includes Conwy, a World Heritage Site offering a castle, festivals, shops and restaurants, and Llandudno with its sandy beaches and The Great Orme. Dolgarrog is an ideal base for exploring this part of Wales.

Owners provided a generous welcome pack which included treats for our dog. Gareth couldn't have done more to make us feel at home. Large hot tub was a real treat after days out exploring. Beautiful local walks & lots of amazing places to visit within a reasonable drive. Would definitely stay again.

Booked here for my partners birthday and they even got him a birthday card and a bottle of wine! The hot tub was amazing and so were the views. 5* stay

Well kept, and the owners are very respectful of your privacy and lovely people. The hot tub is very relaxing and clean. The property and the bed is extremely comfortable. The path at the back of the property up to the Roman road is a little steep, as the advert states but manageable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.
