This lovely upside-down house overlooking the glorious River Dyfi estuary in the pretty village of Aberdovey is perfect for a get together of family or friends. Set in an idyllic location, the detached, former coach house sleeps six guests across three bedrooms. Beautifully furnished, and with a splendid view from the enclosed garden, it is just 0.5 miles from the beach, shops and restaurants. Aberdovey has a sheltered, sandy beach, ideal for water sports, and you are within easy reach of the magnificent mountains of North Wales.

Head upstairs to the bright and spacious, first-floor lounge/diner, with splendid coastal views from the large bay window. Sink into plush sofas or gather round the dining table as you watch the sun go down over the estuary. The airy, all-white kitchen is ideal for creative cooking using local produce. Downstairs are three sumptuous bedrooms: two king-size and one super-king-size, which has French doors into the garden. All have en-suite showers. Outside, a patio in the pretty garden houses a BBQ and outdoor furniture, where you can drink in the wonderful vista.

Swim, surf, sail or paddleboard from Aberdovey’s golden beach, and stride out along the Welsh Coast Path past miles of golden sands, with breathtaking views along the way. At the harbour, take a boat trip around Cardigan Bay, with the Snowdonia mountains framing a spectacular backdrop. From Tywyn (4 miles), hop on board the historic Talyllyn steam railway for a 7-mile journey through glorious countryside. You can hop off at Dolgoch station to see the famous waterfalls, then rejoin the train for the terminus at Abergynolwyn. Enjoy a drink and snack at the station cafe, then head off to explore mountain trails in this southern tip of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park.
