Arfryn Cottage in Bangor is highly praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and welcoming atmosphere. Guests appreciate the stunning views, convenient location, and the thoughtful touches from the owner, including welcome packs. The property serves as an excellent base for exploring Snowdonia and North Wales, with many noting its comfort and well-equipped facilities, despite a few minor maintenance issues.
The cottage is consistently described as very clean, with numerous guests highlighting its exceptional cleanliness. There is, however, a single mention of a damp issue in an ensuite and a suggestion that the oven and crockery could be cleaner or replaced.
The location is frequently commended for being perfect for exploring North Wales and Snowdonia, with easy access to local shops and outdoor activities. Some guests found the steep incline challenging, but this did not significantly detract from the overall positive feedback.
Guests find the cottage cosy and comfortable, with plenty of space and a homely feel. There are mentions of soft mattresses and a bed on wheels, suggesting room for improvement, but these are minor compared to the overall comfort experienced.
The facilities are generally well-received, with the cottage being well-equipped and offering modern amenities like TVs with streaming services. Some guests noted a lack of kitchenware and issues with a TV and a pipe burst, indicating that while facilities are good, there is some room for maintenance and improvement.
The owner's thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with guests appreciating welcome packs that include Welsh cakes, wine, and biscuits. While these gestures are highly valued, it is important to note that such gifts are subject to the owner's discretion and may not be guaranteed for every stay.
Enjoying an elevated position above Bethesda, with beautiful, rugged views of the surrounding landscape to Penrhyn Quarry, is this homely, semi-detached holiday cottage. Just five minutes from Zip World, and 10 from the town centre, Arfryn is perfect for adrenaline junkies, friends, families or even couples exploring this beautiful area. Situated on a residential street with parking for three cars, the cottage is deceptively spacious. The kitchen is well-equipped with fresh, white-gloss cupboards and a breakfast area for four people. The comfortable sitting room has a lovely red-brick fireplace and woodburner, along with a dining table and patio doors leading into the garden. There is also a bathroom and two bedrooms on the ground floor, including a pretty double room with its own en-suite and a nice view over the garden. Upstairs is the master bedroom and a second room with a single bed. In the summer you can dine outside and watch the zip wire action, or bask in the sunshine which warms the garden for most of the day. Zip World is just a five-minute walk away from the cottage, and the centre of Bethesda and all its amenities can be reached in about 10 minutes. The town is a wonderful place to explore North Wales from; you can visit Bangor, Anglesey and Llanberis within half an hour in the car, visit the Ogwen Valley, or make your way to the top of Snowdon for a simply spectacular view! With so much to see and do, youll be sure of a fun-filled, action-packed holiday!
