Guests say

Guests consistently praise Llys Elen for its prime location, offering easy access to walking trails and stunning views. The cottage is described as cosy, clean, and well-equipped, with a beautiful garden that's a haven for wildlife. While some minor maintenance issues are mentioned, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many expressing a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with numerous guests noting it is 'immaculately clean' and well-presented. Only one mention of a slight damp smell suggests a minor issue that does not significantly impact the overall positive feedback.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to walking trails, lakes, and Snowdon, with guests appreciating the beautiful views and the peaceful setting. The convenience for photographers and hikers is particularly noted.

Comfort is frequently mentioned, with guests finding the cottage warm, homely, and cosy, especially with the fireplace. The 'purple room' was a hit with children, and the garden provided a lovely space for relaxation. A suggestion for a rug to add warmth to a tiled floor indicates room for improvement.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the kitchen being well-equipped and the heating and Wi-Fi performing well. However, some guests encountered issues with maintenance, such as a curtain rail falling, light bulbs needing replacement, and a broken microwave, which slightly lowers the score.

While guests have mentioned thoughtful touches like Welsh cakes and a Christmas tree, there is not enough consistent information about gifts or additional thoughtful gestures to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed.

The rooms were all lovely and having the sitting room was a real bonus, as everyone had somewhere to go for peace if they wanted it. We would definitely go back there and my father might be booking based on our recommendation!

We had children & so long as they were supervised had no problems . It is tight but we managed 3 cars parked off the road.

Despite being next to a road, it was quiet. It is really a cottage best suited to those wanting a base to walk in the area and relax and the boot room was useful. We really enjoyed walking around the lakes as well as up Yr Wyddfa. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. With five adults, we just about had enough room in the kitchen/lounge area so it would probably be uncomfortable with six adults. Parking for two cars was a plus point. Overall, we had a lovely holiday based in Llys Elen. The bath was lovely to relax in at the end of the day. Only one negative which is easily fixed - the towels didn’t smell nice even though they were clean.
