Situated on the outskirts of Porthmadog, is the small village of Tremadog. Within this village, you will find a selection of pubs, a restaurant, a fish and chip shop, a spar and a wealth of local business. Within one mile, you will find the larger, coastal town of Porthmadog which plays host to a larger selection of amenities to suit all. Moreover, as the village rests on the edge of the wonderful Snowdonia National Park, visitors can use Tremadog as a base to explore miles of countryside, complete with Wales’ tallest mountain, woodlands, beaches and areas steeped with charming history. Further afield, is the seaside resort of Harlech, where you can walk along the beach, explore the imposing medieval castle or settle within a café and gaze out across the sea. Nearby villages include the Italian-style village of Portmeirion and the town of Criccieth, each well worth a visit. Tremadog is a quaint village, ideal for exploring North Wales.

High quality finishings throughout, high ceilings. Remote location with stunning views. Not the easiest track to get to the property, but definitely worth it. Two cots provided which was a huge help for us.

BUT you do need to stress the access is not easy. We are farmers so used to cart tracks, uneven roads etc but the southern access is EXTREMELY steep, narrow and quite hairy to drive up. The northern route is much better - still extremely narrow but at least it's a gentle incline and you can see what's coming more easily. The perils of the access route were only pointed out AFTER I had booked. I just think we would have avoided completely that southern access had we been advised the other route was easier - it might be longer but it's more enjoyable and we only did this for the rest of the holiday. Oh, and two different Sat NAvs gave different locations - one was in the middle of a lake! Stunning views, worth the hike but not for the nervous driver at all! You can slip off the edge of the narrow track if you have to back up as in many places there are bogs on either side!! Plus the track to the cottage, once you have found it, is very bumpy and pot holey - also perhaps not for the less adventurous? As i say, we are used to these conditions, not many people are!! Fab place though - just amazing views - when it's not raining. Oh and you say it's 11 mins to shops but that's only through the southern route NOT the northern. You don't want to find you have run out of milk - it's an expedition to find more!! Saying that, we'd return in a shot!!

As soon as we opened the door it had the wow factor. Yes, it is a little remote location wise but the breathtaking views, scenery, cows and sheep more than make up for this. It was such bliss waking up to this every morning. The house itself is gorgeous, decorated to a very high standard with great attention to detail, the owners have really thought of everything you need to make for a relaxing stay. We were not originally meant to stay in this property but so glad we did in the end, I honestly cannot recommend this house enough!! There were 8 of us in the groups and there was sufficient space that didnât make you feel like you were on top of each other, at any point. The only tiny thing to note, there is not much outside space except a lovely terrace, which is wonderful to sit and watch the world go by. However, be mindful if travelling with children there is no grass or garden, unless you want to go past the fence with the sheep and cows. This a minor thing that should not put you off this property as it is AMAZING!! We will definitely book to stay here again! Thank you to the owner's for giving us a memorable stay x
