Guests say

Bwthyn Bach is a well-received cottage with guests praising its comfort, cleanliness, and proximity to the beach and local amenities. Many appreciate the peacefulness and the welcome pack provided. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with guests enjoying the location and expressing a desire to return.

The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and well-maintained, with only a few isolated comments about areas needing better cleaning. The positive remarks about cleanliness suggest a high standard is generally met.

The location is highly praised for its quietness, proximity to the beach, and accessibility to local attractions and amenities. The presence of nearby caravan parks is noted, but it does not seem to detract significantly from the overall experience.

Guests frequently mention the cottage's comfort, with a cosy atmosphere and comfortable beds. Some guests suggest improvements like additional shelving in the shower and a blind for privacy, but these do not overshadow the overall comfort of the stay.

Facilities are generally good, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and thoughtful touches. However, there are several comments about maintenance issues such as problems with the shower temperature, lighting, and appliances, which suggests room for improvement.

Guests often express gratitude for the welcome pack, which adds a thoughtful touch to their stay. It is important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

The sofa was horrible for us with virtually no back - we gave in and brought our camping chairs in from the car as these were more comfortable! Younger people might find this less of a problem. There is an oven, hob and microwave as well as a fridge and four of almost everything crockery wise. Surprisingly there were no egg cups. No welcome pack was provided which isn’t a problem yet there were teabags, some proper coffee, two dishwasher tablets and three toilet rolls. There were also some washing tablets and washing up liquid. It’s good to know what is provided because we have arrived with bread and milk etc before to find it orovided. The bed was not uncomfortable and the TV worked well and the shower was superb! The cottage is within a few minutes walk of the beach. There are quite a few walks nearby. The train station is very close with two hourly services north to Harlech, Portmadog , Cricieth and Pwlleli or south into Barmouth and beyond. Barmouth is an easy drive from the cottage for its restaurants and shops or there is a Tesco about 30 minutes drive in Portmadog. The cottage was very clean and we enjoyed our stay but would not return because of the comfort issues.

Dog wee stain on bedroom carpet has been there for 3 years now! Field adjacent is now used as a caravan graveyard which resulted in a highly unpleasant view and definitely did cause some disruption at times with movement of vans and noise. A welcome pack with milk etc would also be expected with a 5 star listed property. Very limited cleaning supplies provided so make sure you bring scourer, anti-bac spray etc. TV sound also not working.

Lovely property but the field opposite is now used for dumping old caravans, very noisy at times due to caravans being transported in and out, shame it’s ruined the outlook
