Mill Cottage is a charming and well-situated property in North Wales, appreciated for its character, cosy atmosphere, and generous welcome gifts. Guests have enjoyed the convenient location for exploring the area, the dog-friendly amenities, and the well-equipped kitchen. The property's historic charm and the thoughtful touches by the host have contributed to many memorable stays, despite some concerns about road noise and the need for minor improvements.
The cottage generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with guests finding it cosy and well-appointed. However, a few guests noted areas that could benefit from deeper cleaning or attention, such as coal dust on the banister and a dirty rug. These isolated comments suggest room for improvement, but overall, the property is maintained to a good standard.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to local attractions and natural beauty, making it an excellent base for exploring North Wales. However, several guests have mentioned that the proximity to a busy road can lead to noise, which may affect those sensitive to traffic sounds. The balance of positive location attributes with the road noise consideration results in a good but not excellent score.
Guests find Mill Cottage comfortable, with a warm and cosy atmosphere, especially when the log burner is in use. The bedrooms are described as pleasant, and the provision of dog beds is appreciated. Some guests mentioned the need for a new sofa and mattress, indicating that while comfort is generally high, there is potential for enhancement.
The cottage is well-equipped with a kitchen that satisfies most culinary needs, a luxurious bathroom, and ample wood for the fire. The presence of Wi-Fi and a well-maintained garden add to the facilities' appeal. Despite the high praise, a few guests suggested minor maintenance, such as fixing a night storage heater, which prevents a perfect score.
The host's thoughtfulness is frequently commended, with mentions of welcome gifts for both guests and their dogs, including wine, treats, and dog beds. These gestures contribute significantly to the guests' experience, although it is important to note that such gifts, while greatly appreciated, may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Owner very accommodating and makes sure we have all that we need for a very pleasant stay. Cottage is situated in an ideal place for touring North Wales, or thereâs lots of walks and history to explore quite locally.

Perfectly located for getting to: a wide range of both âbigâ and âlittleâ railways and the Oakley Arms for delicious suppers.

Everything you need. The garden could do with some love. We were hoping that the fire pit was there as there is one showing in the photo. But we couldn't find one. The road was very busy and noisy.
